Bizarre interpretation.  There is a difference between wanting to see some old friends back in an expanded 16 team Championship and denying promotion to all other clubs.

I'm not in favour of ring-fencing as it holds back ambitious clubs & players;

But it's not a new phenomenon it was about years before leagues were ever a thought;

Senior clubs wouldn't entertain giving a regular fixture to any up & coming clubs;
It was also a fact with the "Old Boys" network;

The "Leagues" have improved the game;
But at a massive cost, that was being a member of a close knit club no matter of your ability;
Players today are missing what has kept us "Old Farts" being friends long after our bodies gave up the game;
3 sides (1st XV, ExA XV & ExB XV) travelling together as one, with no-one to bothered about which side you turned out for other than you were one of the club;

The RFU & Premier League has taken enough from us it carry on as if we don't count....

If it looks like a duck & quacks like a duck it's just my rucking luck!

No problem with wanting to see old friends back at any level, but it has to be on merit.

The way it was worded (and the following post) indicated that this wasn't the case.

Well, you're very wrong in your interpretation then, but so sorry if I'm not quite earnest enough to pass muster for you.
It's a long way down off that horse of yours though.

Spot on there Mark.
Now there's a dilemma though - I'd overlooked my favourite away day. Damn. How are we going to fit LW in? Wink

Can't do that. Tantamount to ringfencing in reverse. Harumph.
Seriously though, I wonder how much (if any) effect Glawster's move away from Hartpury will have, now their ttaining ground lease has expired?

I don’t think much on the playing front as it’s the better standard around for the senior academy lads and possibly Cinderford for the junior academy all close with limited travelling

I just want a league match every week, home and away, from September to May.  New and much loved old grounds to visit, with the odd stopover on the longer distance trips, for a good night out.  A 16 team league should do it nicely.

Exactly, unfortunately the re-organisation is based on 14 teams per league - so I would think the championship would be the same, but of course till they pull their fingers out and make a decision we can only guess.

The decision to reduce the season to 26 games + 4 county games, was taken to give semi-pro players more time off.

The Championship players do not play county matches, so you could argue they could mange four more matches.

Only four teams in the Championship will not be semi pro next season. If 26 league matches was what the vast majority of National One and National Two teams D or R/Head Coaches want going forward for their semi pro teams I would imagine the same will be found in the Championship. 30 matches at Championship level for semi pro players seems excessive.

Marigold what 4 teams will be fulltime? My guess Pirates, Ealing, Jersey and Doncaster.

Stadium you are correct. I have not heard of any others returning to full time.
