I’ve just watched / listened on the BBC website to the highlights of Italy / England, and just heard (from a voice Id already quickly found a bit irritating) “he’s going to snipe round the corner, you cheeky little sausage. Sneaky cheeky, Curry touches down”.
There is nothing like a good commentary to enhance the experience, but that was just nothing like a good commentary. Why doesn’t the best person for the job ever get the job any more !! Edited by Thames Estuary Man - 03 Nov 2020 at 11:39 |

Because you have to be politically correct. There is one Kiwi commentator whose voice is squeaky and grating. When she is commentating I have to watch without sound. It's not what she says, just the way her voice sounds. |

I turn the sound down when Brian Moore is commentating. His blinkered views on the game are a good argument for removing the scrum, he never talks about anything else!

Talking of the above-mentioned duo, Butler was tying himself in knots on Saturday night trying to constantly explain the '6N table as it stands' graphic, which was actually far simpler than he was making out, and not really necessary anyway as there was only one game in progress. Moore suggested he might shut up/concentrate on the game. Thereby illustrating why I like one and not the other!
