I disagree that the PRL academies are not producing the quality, the players are there, it's solely the RFU and their puppets who are refusing to use the talent. Jones gave the odd one cap to a young player or two and then never picked them again during his term, yet the same players are now(too late) in the side. The Championship and the National leagues are loaded with players from Premiership teams academies that they did not offer full time contracts too, along with dual registration players on the way up. I agree that the clubs hosting these players should get some kind of recompense, even a transfer fee if you like, but the system works. The RFU is the sole cause of the games malaise, no-one else would keep picking the dead wood that is currently destroying the English national teams chances of winning anything.

A brilliant read . . . good luck to Cov, they seem to have an excellent business plan. Mr Sharp has the measure of Mr Sweeney!!!
Run with it

This is a hugely impressive statement of intent from the whole Coventry team. The passion to set their own agenda and execute it screams through.

What they could achieve with a positive structure and governance would be limitless.

It illustrates what the RFU is / has turned itself into - an irrelevance to the majority of the game. I have reached the point where there is no sensible means of reforming the English game. It needs exploding and starting again. Frankly none of the current structure and leadership should remain. I want a revolution.

Interesting news in Wales as we try to make a semi-pro structure fit for purpose.

Wales online is an awful website but the journalist writing this knows his stuff.

Mr Sharp does indeed have the measure of Mr Sweeney although he doesn't fall into the trap of believing everything is the fault of the RFU.
