If three go down fron N1, then winners of the three N2's go up I guess.

It reads as a tongue in cheek appraisal of several clubs in N2 divisions. Written before (or early in) the season as far as I can make out |

It’s a complete “non” article.
How and why has it been posted now? I love the point about N2 being considered as an amateur league? Really?

If it hadn't been for the omission of SP from the list of contenders in the article, I would have thought you may have plied the author with several too many G&Ts, ST!

I read it yesterday and thought I had suddenly moved to a parallel universe. So much nonsense. How did it ever get published on the website?

It looks like it’s been slightly edited to try and make some sense. No mention of playoffs anymore. The story should have been taken down as it’s ill informed and meaningless. Not a good optic for NCA.

Meanwhile, I wrote this for Moseley Matters ...
"In National 2, the North division is headed by Sedgley Park, 12 points ahead of Fylde with four full rounds to go and Fylde having a game in hand. Otley have two games in hand and could in theory overhaul both of these but it seems like a stretch for this to happen. The return of trips to Park Lane, Whitefield, would seem to be in the offing. In National 2 East, again with four full rounds to go, Blackheath are now 15 points ahead of Barnes, so victory this weekend should seal promotion for them, especially if Barnes fail to get a bonus point victory. Worthing are a single point behind Barnes and theoretically in the hunt, but need both clubs above them to fail catastrophically. It looks like Well Hall beckons again for next season as Club bounce straight back from last season’s relegation. National 2 West is currently led by Leicester Lions who have a 16 point cushion over Clifton, again with four rounds to go. Victory this weekend would clinch promotion for the Blaby-based side, but failure by Clifton to take 2 or more points would also do it. Lions would be brand new opponents for Moseley, and I’m sure we’d be running coaches to Westleigh Park, so watch this space."

Looks the same version to me and still mentions playoffs, it really does look like some0ne either forgot to write anything for this weekend and re-hashed something from another year or they just couldn't be @rsed, some of the laziest journalism I 've seen in a long time.

I read it this morning, decided I was hallucinating, and went on to do something else. An unusual lapse for the NCA, I would say, though they have had our address down as Park Road all season.
Speaking of optics, ST, it looks like too much G and not enough T.

As there is no report for todays games, I'm guessing someone threw that at the site without actually reading it, they surely cannot be that out of touch with our leagues?

Even more confusing it mentions the three winners going up but also mentions play-offs for those coming 2nd and 3rd. Do they believe 4 teams are coming down from National 1. Whilst I’m all against ring/fencing I would have thought it only fair to let sides know how many are expected to go up / down before the season starts. Then I’m being stupid aren’t I? Look at the divisions above.

All the articles in the Bespoke column appear to be slightly odd, another one says: "England’s strong recent form in the Six Nations has seen the leading bookmakers start to take them seriously as potential Rugby World Cup contenders this year." |

Well now we can all but this down to the poor author having mistakenly eating the wrong kind of mushrooms before sitting down to edit this article
