Ealing 33 (BP) - Caldy 14 (2T) - HT. Things settled down after Csldy were a bit overwhelmed in the first 20.

Doncaster 24-32 Ampthill. Wow, is that the first time the As have beaten Doncaster? It has to be the most unexpected result of the day.

Ealing 54 BP -Caldy 28 (BP) - Ealing brought on the subs, but then an injury to Uzokwe left them a man down for the ladt ten, which Caldy capitalized on to get the BP. FT

Ampthill were excellent in using the ball quickly in broken play. Donny were awful in ball retention, gifting the As opportunities they gladly took. Heaven knows how big the penalty count was against the As and even then they deservedly won!

Excellent summary. Doncaster were ponderous. As were sharp and always dangerous.

Cracking game at Elligia Fields. Cambridge made too many errors in the first half, and Pirates really capitalized on them - as good teams do. Then in the second half, Cambridge made fewer errors and pulled back. A huge step forwards from the Cup game. Hopefully when we go down there, we will put two decent halves together and give them a real fright, and maybe even win. |

And of course you are right. My memory is both short and old. But I do think it is Ampthill’s first victory up there. |

Are you not allowed to use a reverse substitution (eg bring back on one of your starting XV) in the case of an injury after the bench has been emptied, to prevent being a man down for the remainder?
