Moon and Furbank played together at Cambridge, 30 and 32 caps.

Fraser Dingwall was Cambridge Mini and Youth, but never pulled on a senior shirt as he had already signed for Saints. He did play seven games for Coventry.

It is nothing new though, but does admirably show how important the other leagues are to the top tier, Martin Johnson and the Deacon Brothers began at Wigston, one of the two clubs who merged to form Leicester Lions. Billy Twelvetrees played for the Lions before joining Leicester Tigers. The academy system is superb, but it does not replace the Championship or the National leagues, I think they need us more than they will ever actually acknowledge.

Great thread guys.

I had to check Finn Russell.
Left school early to do an apprenticeship.
Ended up playing for Ayr for a season helping them to win the Scottish Premiership.
Then signs for Glasgow with Gregor Townsend as coach.
So the Scottish Premiership club doing it's job very effectively for Scotland in this case.

An amazing contribution from The Championship let alone the volunteer led Community clubs who encouraged players in their Mini & Youth set up. I read there's a growing movement for financial contribution to Junior clubs who introduce youngsters to the game.

P.S. Good to see the match on terrestrial TV
