One would assume if HM the Queen should pass, then all games off this weekend?

If they hold to the plans as they always have been, and resist the urge to modernise, then I would agree. I think basically everything grinds to a halt.

In 1952, after the death of George VI, rugby called its games off, but association football carried on.  But back then rugby union wasn't professional, and it is now.  So who knows.

It’s inconceivable that ANY sporting game would take place during any period of mourning for our Queen.
In 1997 when Princess Diana died, we were due to play Orrell on that weekend & I know that was called off.

I believe the Queen has passed away (official announcement imminent), and out of respect all sporting fixtures should be postponed.

"Out of respect" shouldn't one wait for official confirmation of something happening (if indeed anything has) rather than posting unsubstantiated rumours?! Angry

Celebrate the life of a unique and incredible woman.  Mourning is a bit old hat.

It's nothing major, I said what I wanted to say. Thanks for apologising...

I would suggest a 2 minutes silence before the games.

It is a very sad loss for the nation, she served us well may she rest in peace.

I read that before the second half of the hazelnutnal game, they had a two minute silence.

The very least our sport can do is hold a silence before a match.

The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

Scottish RFU just postponed all rugby.
The RFU will follow very shortly in my opinion.

RIP Your Majesty.

According to a Yorkshire RFU post on Facebook

"A further update will be posted tomorrow regarding this weekend's matches."

The RFU needs to make an announcement regarding rugby as early as possible today. Any delay will complicate an already difficult situation. There is historical precedent and my understanding is that other sports have already announced their intentions to suspend their activities.

Personally I don't know what the right thing to do is but I know a lot of people who I am close to are more certain in their views and I very much respect their sense of allegiance and loyalty to the Queen, and their propriety. As I write this, at a time when the world is spinning ever faster it is becoming clear to me that taking time out to pay proper respect to an individual who for 75 years has displayed the most selfless sense of duty has to be the right thing to do.

The RFU has to make the announcement quickly - because the more I think about it there is really no decision to make
