Sara Cox as Referee and JP Doyle as assessor? That seems an embarassment of riches for the Ealing - Jersey game. I've rated both of them. Not quite to the level though of getting Wayne Barnes for our preseason friendly against Rosslyn Park.

CC - stealing my thunder! Anyhow, I prefer this line up to the one we saw last weekend. Tommy Bell at 15 allows David Johnston to play in his more effective position at 13. I prefer Sloane in as well. I thought that Willis and Burns were the best 9/10 combo in the league last year by the end of the season, but I guess you don't bring in Shingler to sit on the bench. This line up says nothing good about Ealing's recruitment though, as the vast majority of the new signings haven't been able to force themselves into the match day squad.

Whatever about some of the new signings I'm wondering when we are going to see Lewis Jones and Peter Lydon. Both injured I assume.

Teams for Ampthill v Carnegie

Amps make 7 changes from the squad that lost against Nottingham, up front Jon Kpoku (lock, DR with Saracens) & Argentine Facundo Dominguez (No. 8) rotate. In the backs, DR with Saints Josh Gillespie (Wing) makes his debut while Kevin Barrett comes in at scrum half. On the bench Maama Molitika rotates, Will Alman comes in covering the back row, Darryl Veenendahl rotates, Mickey Waters comes in covering fly half and full back while Reuben Bird-Tulloch, DR with Saints provides backs cover.

I note that YC have only named 5 on the bench!

Ampthill
15. Lynch, 14. Gillespie*, 13. Sage, 12. Hanks, 11. Baker, 10. Grimoldby, 9. Barrett, 1. Tonga’huiha, 2. Ward (c), 3. Lutui, 4. Kpoku*, 5. Kerry, 6. Johnson, 7. Bercis, 8. Dominguez, 16. Blackmore, 17. Collins, 18. Christie*, 19. Molitika, 20. Allman, 21. Veenendaal, 22. Waters, 23. Bird-Tulloch*

* = dual registered

Yorkshire Carnegie
15. Bitirim, 14. Shaw, 13. Carlisle, 12. Lancaster, 11. Varndell, 10. Ford (cc), 9. Elliott, 1. Flynn, 2. Bn Sowrey (cc), 3. Smith, 4. Brady, 5. Humfrey, 6. Smith, 7. Lavin, 8. Graham, 16. Musseti, 17. Reid, 18. Davidson, 19. Lloyd, 20. James Seabrook, 21. Bustin

Ealing 33 - 0 Jersey at HT.
Ealing looking very sharp, Jersey going backwards all across the park.
Speak softly, but carry a big stick.

Ampthill (53) outscored Carnegie (22) 8 tries to 3 with a much better second half performance. Nice to secure our first ever win & points at level 2.

YC are not that bad a side, the just need to gel as a team. I wouldn't direct any vitriol at the squad or coaching team, they're doing their best, the club's management team on the other hand...
