Bedford 5 v 0 Nottingham - Even though they lost, I thought Bedford were superb against Donny and showed exactly why they are in the top 3. If they get close to those levels this weekend I think they could blow an injury ravaged Nottingham away.
Caldy 1 v 5 Hartpury - I expect a similar sort of pattern in this game to Caldy’s matches in the last few weeks - they will play well and be competitive for a lot of the game, but will get undone by Hartpury’s extra quality in the last 15-20 minutes.
Cambridge 0 v 5 Doncaster - Donny have looked a completely different side in the last few games to earlier in the season. The game against Bedford was such a high quality game and the Knights won it. I can’t see Donny slipping up in this one, expecting another 5 point haul.
Chinnor 1 v 4 Cornish Pirates - I was half tempted to go with an upset in this one because Chinnor have been very tough opponents at home this season - they’ve taken some big scalps at Kingsey Road. However, Pirates are always very savvy and switched-on so I think they’ll have enough to grind out a narrow win.
Coventry 5 v 1 Ampthill - I’m abandoning my tradition of picking 5-0’s in Coventry home matches, their defence seems to have gone AWOL recently. They’ll win the game comfortably, but probably let in a few tries to give Amps the BP.
London Scottish 0 v 5 Ealing - Scottish did win this game last season, and they always raise their game against Ealing. However, with the way that the juggernaut is playing at the moment, they will do very well to keep this under 50 points. LS should target 4 tries, it’s their best chance of getting something out of this.
