Result showing as Blackburn 190-0 Kirkby Lonsdale.

If correct that must be close to a British record surely?

From the Blackburn twitter:

Tries: Scrivens x 6, Smith x 5, Jarrold x 3, Simpson x 3, Granby x 2, Ferrier x 2, Moon x 2, Evans, Kincart, Fifield, Brookes, Joyner, Johnson, Russell. Cons: Jarrold x 12, Fifield x 8.

So ten conversions missed, if they had kicked those, they would have reached 200!

30 tries... in 80 minutes or so. One helluva day for Blackburn but you've got to feel sorry for Kirkby Lonsdale.

I've just checked their season.  They're having a torrid time of it. They've had 3 matches where they've conceded 100+ and a good number 80+.

After 19 matches -

Points for 169
Points against 1423 (av 74.89 per match)

Last season wasn't much better. You've got to respect the players who continue to turn up week in week out when you're having those results.

I did the same last night Bruce and went through their season to date, sad in all respects, but yes, they keep turning up and big UP for their players and supporters.

and we’ll done to your guys yesterday, our guys were nervous from the start, just never got going, or should I say we’re not allowed to get going,,, hopefully next week, tho that won’t be easy.. if not then Sidcup awaits….

Yes. I think whatever has happened at Kirkby Lonsdale, it's testament that they aren't on minus points. To have no walkovers when they are losing so comprehensively every week deserves respect

The re-organisation of the leagues prompted much talk about teams being "promoted" who would not normally have been so and whether this would lead to mismatches and damage to club/player morale. Kirby Lonsdale suffered the opposite effect, staying at a level from which they would have been relegated and enduring a torrid season rather than being able to regroup at the level below. It is to their great credit that they are sticking to their task and I wish them well in 2023-24. In National 2 East, Westcliff have suffered the same fate. "Saved" from the drop and carrying a 5 point deduction for a walkover last season, they have not yet managed a win and are still on -1 point. Hopefully they will also regroup next season but they do have concerns. These clubs and I'm sure there will be others, were dealt a poor hand by our lords and masters.

If only Webb-Ellis hadn't given them the ball back!

I was on receiving end of a 50- 0 that was the worst, I played in a 0-0 our opponents were rubbish and we were even worse. I also remember us winning 99-0 and our place kicker who missed the last conversion to take us over the ton was moaned at all the way home on the coach lol.

I am fairly sure that at one time the referee would halt the match at 100 points to one side.  Is that the case or am I mistaken? Perhaps the practice ended with the advent of leagues!

Youth games are generally stopped, and then the sides mixed to get a good game.
But not adult games - at least not since leagues.

After they ran out of money in 2009, Manchester had several seasons of hidings, with several 100 point losses.

Well done to the Kirkby lads for keeping going. We got humped 110-21 earlier this season. Return match we turned the table to win 35-30.

There is always hope.

Stockport turned over league leaders Rossendale 34-33 after being 12-33 down at HT. Last week Port lost to bottom side Sandbach. Inconsistent doesn't really summit up.

So first game of the season so hopping up to Stockport to see them play Penrith.
Pre season appears to have gone well and after well over 50 years at Headlands Road Port have at long last acquired a smart new stand.

Hoping to watch a win sat down!
