Taunton Titans

Luctonians
Clifton
Old Reds
Exeter Univ.
Camborne
Hinckley
Loughborough S
Redruth

Devonport S
Oxford Harlequins

With Hull Ionians surviving, I think N will again have one team too many as it needs to accommodate 3 teams with only 2 slots available (if you include Chester) so a N team will go West. That would mean that West has one too many and possibly send Oxford Harlequins to the East. Lymm, Chester and possibly Macclesfield could be in mix for a transfer.

How can it be anyone other than Chester?  Macclesfield is further east by a fair amount that presumable adds on a fair amount of mileage?

All depends on the mileage criteria they apply.

We already know that between Chester and Lymm, Chester have less to travel, but that now needs to be applied to Chester and Macclesfield.

With the way it works these days it could be quite a big shake up,

Looking on the map it might be that moving Worthing, Havant, Ox Quins & Henley into the West, with Chester, Bournville, Hinckley & Loughborough into a Midlands & London division actually results in less overall mileage.  There are now three trips to the deep south west with Redruth, Camborne & Devonport all at that level which really racks up the mileage.  Without the trip to North Walsham you'd have Bury St Edmonds, Colchester & Canterbury as the *really* long trips from the north.

Looking closer that could even see Sheffield drop into the south, which would be objectively hilarious to have the two Sheffield clubs be the closest National League clubs to each other but be in different leagues!

Agree except if the stated aim of reducing travel is actually followed through then Hinckley & Loughborough should go east and Oxford H. & Henley or Havant should go west.

According to Billingham’s Facebook, they are saying that National 2 North makeup is as follows:

Billingham
Chester
Fylde
Harrogate
Hull
Hull Ionians
Leeds Tykes
Lymm
Otley
Preston
Sheffield
Sheffield Tigers
Tynedale
Wharfedale

This might suggest Wild Boars assumption might be correct but I can only see details of the makeup of National 2 North.

That's right. Macclesfield head West, into what looks like a strong Nat 2 West league.

Surely it’s crazy to have Macclesfield in the West division, even if the mileage involved is less than for Chester and Lymm? The travel time to Macclesfield from the motorway network is much greater than for the other two (says an ex Cheshire resident).

Sorry the presentation isn’t so good. Did it from my I phone & the spreadsheet is fairly basic…….a bit like me 😂

Used Lymm Chester & Macclesfield & inserted distances to each Div 2 North & west ground for comparison. Haven’t had chance to analyse yet.

For Nat 2W excluding Macclesfield as a destination:

Chester: 2358
Lymm: 2330
Macclesfield: 2274

Given Chester is the furthest South & West that surprises me, I guess being closer to the Midlands sides tipped the balance?

Fair enough for the league split though on that basis.

I think it's fait to say North and West are both very strong leagues, who ever is promoted will have had a tough route.
