BBC do it again, not. No report on their website of the victory over Argentina, but there are on the Wales and Ireland games. Confused

Yes I noticed that, had to hunt for a report, the BBC is no longer a source of news, just showbiz gossip, posers at Glastonbury having Sunday roasts is it seems news that we all need to know, I presume it's been taken over by teenagers. In the 60's and 70's we took our food to festivals, bunch of softies.

The problem with the BBC is that it focusses on what the majority want. In Wales and Ireland, there is much greater interest in rugby than in England, hence better coverage. I can't wait for Euro 24, Wimbledon and the Olympics to be over so there is some decent TV and some rugby to watch!

The BBC news used to be that, now it is current affairs and what looks like a lot of re-hashed lazy journalism from other sources and not always fact checked.

More U20s games today.

Ireland pipped Georgia
Wales beat Spain
England played Fiji. Will update when I see result.

Interesting few law trials going on. Allowing calling marks off kick offs has shortened all kick offs which makes restarts more entertaining.

How did SA come to be chosen as hosts for this venue?

Asking as I've just read The Rugby Paper and seen the lamentable crowds: 257 and 110 for England against Arg & Fij respectively... others for the 2nd round include 1,011 for Fra v NZ & 1,511 for SA v Arg (shock defeat for hosts). That's terrible - are they even promoting it?

England will win group & qualify with just a point v SA, as they lead SA & Arg by 5. NZ & Ireland should win their groups & then the 'lucky loser' to qualify for last SF spot between Wales, SA & Arg.

Some countries have an advantage over others as the final games are not played at same time, so some may know what they have to do...

Ireland v Australia game called off because of heavy rain in Cape Town
France v Wales and South Africa v England will wait on pitch inspection
Ireland progress to semi finals as both teams awarded 2 points each

Can’t see South Africa v England game being called off. If the baby Boks win with 5 points England South Africa and Argentina will all be on 10 points

Australia not very happy. Saying Ireland said the conditions were too dangerous to play.
You would have thought they could have rescheduled game later under floodlights or even next day

Irish lads are used to the plush 4G of Dublins finest colleges.

As we know, both captains and the referee have to agree the surface is fit to play.
Any one of the three can say no and the game does not proceed.
