For the most tragic of reasons.

It is with the deepest sadness and regret that the Club must announce the passing of Billy Hardy.

Billy was only in his 2nd season at the Club but during that short time Billy had established himself as an important and most popular member of our 1st XV playing squad.
It is always difficult to know what to say when we lose a Club member but when we lose someone so young and well liked it is especially hard.
All our thoughts are with Billy's family and friends at this most difficult of times.

Billy's funeral will be at 11:30 on Friday 17th January at Pocklington Church of All Saints.

How very tragic..........Having read the article in the Yorkshire Post, I suspect we all know players like Billy at our clubs - although all are of course unique. The fabric of our sport - and can appreciate the loss Pocklington and Ionians must be experiencing. Full marks to all those involved in postponing the game as a mark of respect.
