I have just read that Rugby League's Championship has a TV deal in place - why is it not possible for Rugby Union's equivalent level to have a similar deal?
Surely someone is failing to do their job? |

The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

I recall a discussion of a potential deal for Premier Sports to show the Union Championship, but it meant Thursday evening games, and the clubs felt the exposure was not worth the loss of Saturday revenue. |

Thanks for the info - the article I read didn't specify who was paying to cover it. I just find it incredible that the RU Championship which has a much higher profile than the RL equivalent are unable to get a deal for TV coverage. Whenever, any deal is brokered there will always be some compromises to be made - I would have thought the teams could have agreed to 1 home game a season on a Thursday evening. If they were that worried about loss of weekend revenue they should have agreed to have 14 teams this coming season. |
