Looking forward to this game tonight, but it does seem a bit weird. Almost as if the season had finished and is starting again, albeit very briefly.
This should be a tough game, Hartpury will not be coming here to lose and The Reds will want to continue in this competition.
Having said that, should Jersey advance, the cup will certainly play second fiddle to the annual slug fest against Guernsey on the 14th May. That really should attract a large crowd and will be a very close encounter.

I looked up the 'penalty shoot-out' regulations earlier in the week - was that foolish?!

HT Reds 12 Hartpury 7, hosts have a wee breeze behind us after break, but still a really tight one...

FT Reds 30 Hartpury 14; hosts lost a man 5 min into 2nd half (Sean O'Connor dangerous tackle RC) but pushed on for 2 more tries + 2 pens and kept visitors out until the final 60 secs. Home SF against Donny or Cov awaited, Friday looks likely but will be confirmed...

Not sure if it is correct, but I was told last week that Jersey's professional players are not allowed to play in the Siam Cup

Correct. We are allowed 1, the Jersey born and bred 20 year old Harry Doolan, so the Jersey Reds will play A N Other in the cup semi on Friday with JRFC our amateur side (+1) play the Guernsey semi-pros on Saturday, which should have a crowd of 3,000 plus!!…..it does get a bit complicated

Trying to work the red out Islander. It looked as though the ball carrier got the red, so how can it be a dangerous tackle?….. not saying that the officials got it wrong, but I need to see it again as we had the ball, so a little confused….. and it happened right in front of us!

Ealing team at Home against Ampthill: Pretty much the same as last week, minus a couple knocks. Should do the job.

1 - Whyte
2 - Terry
3 - George Davis
4 - O'Connor
5 - Maddison
6 - Porter
7 - Dugmore
8 - Digby
9 - Burns
10 - Shingler
11 - JCR
12 - Little
13 - Bird-Tulloch
14 - Charlie Walker (using the full name just in case anyone thought we might be rehabbing Alun Walker on the wing)
15 - David Johnston

16 - Veness
17 Gibbons
18 - Seward
19 - Cannon
20 - Moore-Aiono (who?)
21 - Kerins
22 - Willis
23 - Gordon

Brizzer. I can't/shouldn't/won't get into details about the RC, because there'll be a disciplinary as always on these occasions & it's not for me to pre-judge that process. But you're right that the Reds had the ball in the build-up to this incident and a 'dangerous clear-out' would be a more accurate way of describing the alleged offence...

Thanks Islander. That makes more sense, we thought that he was the ball carrier, but if he wasn’t I can see why it was red. Cheers

One of the best contests I've seen at St Peter in ages between two very well matched sides both trying to win. I had no problem with the red card which seemed clear to me but the contact was in no way malicious and the referee was right up with play and gave the card immediately. The match could easily have gone either way at that point but Jersey's game management when down to 14 was remarkable and they totally controlled things up to the last score. Two very good teams gave a cracking match last night.

Anyone know what happened to the plate with the 3 teams knocked out of the cup? Did they just (understandably) say they didn’t want to?

HT Blues 20-7 Pirates

So lead by 12 points.

Go down the slope 2nd half.

As with all games against Pirates this season Blues are edging it but hopefully we won’t throw it away this time!

ATT it’s going to be in the 3s

Ealing 21 (3T) - Ampthill 7 (1T) HT - A very nice passage that went through ateast 4 sets of hands for Ealing's 3rd try. Ealing have the wind in the second half. Surprisingly bad tempered affair, and one of the Amphill players had a go at his own bench to quit heckling Sir.
