Greetings all Rugby Union fans.

Welcome to today’s latest scores thread.

Let’s have a look at today’s games. As usual there are a couple of early kick offs (one at 2pm and one at 2.30pm) with five games kicking off at 3pm.

Matches as follows:

2pm
——-
Rotherham Titans v Bishops Stortford

2.30pm
————-
Sedgley Park v Plymouth Albion

3pm
——-
Blackheath v Esher
Darlington Mowden Park v Sale FC
Rams v Birmingham Moseley
Richmond v Leicester Lions
Rosslyn Park v Dings Crusaders

Early focus for me will be the game at Clifton Lane which is an interesting game between Roth & Bishops Stortford. I watched a recording of Stortford’s impressive win at Sedgley Park a couple of weeks ago, and last week they had a very tight four point loss to leaders Rams with defences well & truly on top. Roth are aiming to consolidate their impressive start, but know BS are very capable opponents.were in fact the last team to play Roth at Clifton Lane in Nat 1 before Covid shut the game down in 2020, leading to our relegation on a preset formula.
Sedgley Park will be aiming to get their season back on track, after losing their last two home games to Dings, and as mentioned above, to Bishops Stortford, and then fell to defeat late on at Moseley by just two points. Considering Sedge had a considerable lead at half time and Ollie Allsop’s red card for Moseley, they will doubtless have been thinking the game was one they should have won. They will be hoping for better fortune against a resurgent Plymouth Albion, who appear to have put their slow start well behind them. I am sure Sedge Tiger will be posting score updates on here for that game.

Regarding the 3pm starts, on paper two juicy ones stand out.
They are the game between leaders Rams and fourth placed Moseley, who will be without Ollie Allsop for the first of a three game suspension for his red card last week. Moseley were beaten soundly by Plymouth in their last away game, but will be happy that they managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against Sedgley Park last week and losing Allsop as mentioned above
The other game I would briefly like to comment on is the Rosslyn Park v Dings Crusaders game. Although Rosslyn lost their first three games they were all pretty close. Roth got a late penalty to deny them a losing bonus, then they lost at home by just two points to Richmond, and, as at Roth, they were denied a losing bonus, when a late Tom Ffitch penalty gave Blackheath a 32-24 win. As for Dings, they have featured in some high scoring games already and had an impressive win at Sedgley Park, but then lost out in an 80 point thriller at home to Rams, just missing out on a second bonus point, having already scored five tries. They were ultimately well beaten at Roth, before coming back to very nearly secure a famous win at home to Richmond, ending up with a draw thanks to two late Richmond tries to secure them a 31-31 draw but, as against Rams, they secured five tries, which meant both teams left with three points each. So clearly they are a dangerous team.

Please feel free to contribute updates as usual but I will consolidate the latest scores throughout the afternoon.

As usual, good luck to all teams in this great league.

Sponges grow in the ocean. That just amazes me. I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn't happen.

Nice write up Rothman. Are you currently in another time zone or penning these thoughts in the middle of the night?

Good luck in our match today.
