This weeks fixtures hopefully are.

Bridgnorth v Newport (Salop) The Shropshire grudge game, no doubt 'North will be looking to get this fixture out of the way even if their pitch at Edgar Davies isn't playable I'm sure there'll be an AGP available to play on somewhere not far away, Stourbridge and Stafford looks to be free. Otherwise it'll be Easter Saturday or even 25th April.
Doncaster Phoenix v Broadstreet
Sheffield v Nuneaton
A nearly Super Saturday but without the England fixture and a trip to Rome gone west Angry

Bridgnorth v Newport = AW Not convinced that this game will be played......FP Bridgnorth will not want to go to a neutral ground and lose their "We only have one pitch side changing room" advantage.

There is a team at Level 9 near us who were ordered to find somewhere to play or risk having a points deduction we allowed them to play at our training facility. Surely after this many cancellations it should be incumbent on 'North to do the same. Wink

My understanding of the MLOC rules is that if a pitch is deemed unplayable (and the EDG has been under water for almost 3 weeks now) the home team are obliged to seek out an alternative venue. A quick look at the fixture lists show Stourbridge to be playing away and their amateur arm Stourbridge Lions having no match. Bridgnorth would appear to have a good working relationship with Stour, training up there occasionally and playing them in a pre-season friendly for the last few seasons so it would appear eminently 'do-able'. If you are prepared to dig a little deeper you will see quite clearly why they are reluctant to comply with the above rule
My forecasts
Bridgnorth v Newport AWAY
Doncaster Phoenix v Broadstreet HOME
Sheffield v Nuneaton HOME

Hope Saturdays game is on at North I always enjoy the trip over and their hospitality.
Not sure of local politics but this cajoling/insistence game is played seems a little OTT and not really in spirit of rugby. Many clubs have been hit hard by portponements and water damage. Surely the RFU will show a modicum of common sense in allowing clubs to play games at home to re coup some of their losses where possible.

Many, many congratulations to Bournville whose big win at Paviors on Saturday wrapped up the league title with 3 games still remaining - very much deserved! Tough challenges ahead (30 games and 20 man match day squads) and history is not on their side but with a muted move to 3 Leagues of 14 at this level it may be a good time to go up with relegations unlikely from Level 4 at the end of 20/21

Thatbloke, thank you very much for the good wishes. Whatever the future holds, we are all very much looking forward to the experience of playing at level 4 for the first time in the club's 111 year history.

Well done Fudgepacker to all at Bournville, a well deserved promotion we will miss you next season. Hope you've got deep pockets and lots of players you'll need it. Good luck at Level 4.

Bridgnorth v Newport OFF
Bridgnorth arranged for fixture to be played at Stourbridge and then appealed against their own arrangements - bizarre!!
Appeal upheld after 2hr+ video link hearing with Ian Unsworth QC
(Big legal wig at the RFU - Google him - hope Bridgnorth are paying!!)
Now Easter Saturday - viruses permitting???

As per my earlier post pleased to see common sense prevail. I was surprised to see Newport switch their top of table game to Bville a few weeks ago. I can only assume their coffers are fairly full. Why if indeed Bnorth did offer Sbridge as a venue would seem strange as Port clearly like a fast track 4G surface as at BV.
Whenever it is played I hope there is a big attendance, good atmosphere and plenty of banter which is what local derbies are about. Over in East Mids I know clubs have been hard hit by postponments with club houses shut for several weeks so I am sure North need any revenue they can from this and other games. Well done RFU but not sure a QC is necessary.

My guesses this week

Bridgnorth vs Newport  Only one winner RFU LOL

Doncaster Phoenix vs Broadstreet HW Difficult this neither team playing very well and Phoenix home form not good either. but home advantage to win through
Sheffield vs Nuneaton HW Only one winner if Sheffield do want to have a chance of a play-off place

Good afternoon campers, Looking at the fixture list it now looks as though all the results are in for the fixtures Week 20. Which were :-

Burton v Bromsgrove
Doncaster Phoenix v Broadstreet
Kettering v Bridgnorth
Newport (Salop) v Bournville
Paviors v Sandbach
Sheffield v Nuneaton

Results as I have them are
Burton 19 Bromsgrove 15 Played 22/2
Doncaster Phoenix 52 v Broadstreet 14 Played yesterday
Kettering 3 v Bridgnorth 17 Played 22/2
Newport (Salop) 30 v Bournville 25 Played 20/2
Paviors 17 v Sandbach 33 played 22/2
Sheffield 28 v Nuneaton 21 played yesterday

So with my calculations going back to week 20 including any revised predictions from other weeks my scores are in bold are week 20 scores. The biggest decider was that only 2 got the Burton result the remainder for the non full houses was the game Bournville v Newport.
