Well after 1 year two months I watched a game of rugby yesterday😁😁😁😁😁!!!!
when over 30 men from hooks lane descended  on Camberley to play a game under the adapted rules, multiple changes and no scrums or mauls made it for a strange game but hey I ain't complaining😁 Gareth's camberley  side won the day with the help of some huge lumps of players! and they are gonna be a handful for any teamwhen the season starts
Even grabbed a beer or two at the outside bar🍻

Good to see the thread is still running. Nice post Tony and I share your emotions on the start of the training/new season. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out over the first few games as with so many clubs in limbo below the Championship there will I am sure be some readjustment of players/teams when it kicks off proper in September. Whatever happens it will be good to get pitch side again.
Good luck to everyone for the season.

Yes they have
Games v HH will now be blank weekends
There is no relegation from level 6 next season so won’t affect league.

Not the first time they've done it either. Twice in a decade.

From the London Welsh website.

The RFU has this week confirmed the Promotion and Relegation position for London 1 South in the 2021/22 Season.

No less than 3 sides will be promoted from London Welsh’s league this season, there will be no relegation. There is ‘potential’ for a 4th side to be promoted depending upon the performance in other leagues.

The enhanced promotion regulation comes as the RFU league structure evolves from the beginning of the 2022/23 season to allow for additional regional levels at both National 2 and National 3 in the rugby pyramid (level 4 and 5). By way of example, we will see as of next season 6 regional leagues at National 3 level, up from 4 in the current structure.

As we enter year 4 of the 5 year plan following the London Welsh ‘Project Reset’, Director of Rugby Cai Griffiths will be looking for a 4th consecutive promotion (completing the goal of 4 promotions in 5 seasons, with one season to spare). The increased promotion pool in what is a competitve league, makes for a mouth watering season of clashes ahead for the London Welsh supporters and Supporters Club.

In other news: we have also been informed by the league secretary that Haywards Heath RFC has withdrawn from London 1 South in the coming season. Therefore, the scheduled fixtures on 13/10/21 and 19/2/22 will now not take place and become free weekends. We wish Haywards Heath RFC all the very best in the future after what has been a difficult 18 months.

Not the same without you Tony, perhaps Dickon could propose a prediction league similar to your league? A bit of banter goes a long way and adds to the daily colour.
Good luck this week-end Mate, we have a massive challenge both at home (Bognor) and away at Camberley.

Best Vuarnet

What happened at Camberley? 52-0? Doesn’t reflect the start Chichester has made

We came up against a very good side when we were missing 2nd row players and a little light on the bench. By half time the scrum was under pressure and we had emptied the bench . I will not take anything away from Camberley as they were relentless in attack and we were lucky that they were binned by the ref when we went down to 14 men about halfway through the half so it was pretty much 14 v 14 till the end. But their defence stifled our backs and they made their aspirations clear. Must say the hospitality and the Scruffs was exemplary and we look forwards to the return event when we should have more of a contest .

Best, Vuarnet

With the greatest respect

They have played the bottom 2
And nobody in the top half of the table
Ironsides being the best positioned side

Reading the reports Horsham gave them a run for their money and no try bonus point either
Again greatest respect to Horsham but look where they are placed 4 games in!
