Canterbury 0 - 5 Old Elthamians - away banker really, but if Canterbury come away with a point, or indeed a W, that would be a big statement of intent.
Blackheath 4 - 1 Chinnor - interesting signings from both so I expect a nervy season opener with Club just edging it
Cambridge 5 - 0 Rams - I don't know anything about Rams so this might as well be a finger in the air (apart from being impressed with what I've seen from Cambridge at this level)
Darlington Mowden Park 2 - 2 Richmond cop out, could genuinely go either way IMO
Plymouth Albion 5 - 0 Bishops Stortford - Home banker
Birmingham Moseley 5 - 1 Hull Ionians - I'd like to think we'll put 4 past them, but Hull aren't slouches and I haven't seen enough of our new look defence. So first time out in the league and based on last season, I can only assume that it's going to leak. However, it's a totally new coaching team, and substantially new XV, so I'm erring on the side of caution more than anything
Rosslyn Park 1 - 4 Rotherham - I've just got a feeling, it's a good job no one offers odds at this level or I could lose a lot of money...
Sale FC 4 - 2 Cinderford - I mean, God knows, really, but I suspect Sale might edge it. Neither has particularly been on my radar this summer beyond the occasional signing update so this is the one I'm least confident on of the lot.

I get better after 3-4 weeks in usually!

edited to add: by the way, given it's round one it's mostly hunches and regular reading of this board over the summer, but I think it's always more interesting when people explain their working!

Billesexile, I don't make any predictions (I'm frightened I jinx my team!!) but I enjoy the predict the score thread and agree with you I particularly like to read different peoples thoughts on how they see games ending up I hope more people follow your lead.  ClapClap

Canterbury 0 - 5 Old Elthamians - know nothing of either but see OE had an early spending spree and assume finding issues if any are resolved

Blackheath 2 - 5 Chinnor - Chinnor to reap rewards of their investment against a strong club side

Cambridge   2 -   2 Rams - keeping level head here as Rams are newbies and due for first season bonus, but new CB squad looking healthy

Darlington MP 4 - 1 Richmond - not much known of current Richmond squad but away trips to NE always tricky

Plymouth Albion 5 - 2 Bishop's Stortford - Stortford squad to take Albion to the wire with Albion desperate to start well

Birmingham Moseley 5 - 1 Hull Ionians - Moseley keep to start well. Not much known about either

Rosslyn Park 5 - 0 Rotherham - advertising board income showing results

Sale FC 1 - 4 Cinderford - assuming the right Cinderford team turns up

Hi Pappashanga, you may want to review this because you didn't put a score for Chinnor Smile

DGS Old Boy, sometimes I predict against my own team in order not to jinx them, likewise sometimes with the teams above and below us in the table I put them as 5-0 so I jinx them. Crazy logic I know, but I don't do it all the time Confused

Canterbury 0 - 5 Old Elthamians - A Kent derby first up for the city side and a lesson on how tough this league is.

Blackheath 2 - 5 Chinnor - Appears Chinnor may have recruited very well.Tackling optional in this game which I expect to be high scoring.

Cambridge   4 -   1 Rams - Rams to make a good fist of this but ultimately lose.

Darlington MP 4 - 1 Richmond - If my memory serves me right, Darlo take a little time to get their season going, but will have enough for a narrow win, if they don't give away too many penalties away, cos Kirby will nail them.

Plymouth Albion 4 - 2 Bishop's Stortford - Just a hunch

Birmingham Moseley 5 - 1 Hull Ionians - Cant see Mose dojng anything else other than improve on last year. Tough start for another of the newbies.

Rosslyn Park 5 - 0 Rotherham - Park to put down their marker for the season. Fully expect them to top this league.

Sale FC 5 - 0 Cinders - Two teams under the radar but Sale to have a ball.
The older I get, the better I was.

Rosslyn Park picking up 41 League points in a single game, that would be a World record that will not be bettered.

Thank you for organising Cumquin

Canterbury 0 - Old Elthamians 5 - despite backer going bankrupt, enough money in the crypts to carry OEs through this season. Canterbury will be garbage and finish bottom IMO.

Blackheath 4 - Coinnor 1 - doesn't matter how much cash you have if you haven't got a coach.

Cambridge 0 - Rams 5 - watched Rams scrum demolish Donny at the weekend. On basis of last season, Cambridge pack are as soft as butter at room temperature.

Darlington Mowden Park 5 - Richmond 2 - battle of the backline. DMP more settled and home advantage significant with their 28,000 seater stadium filled with 1 man and his dog.

Plymouth Albion 4 - Bishops Stortford - 1 - too strong at home

Moseley Bees 5 - Hull Ionians - 0 - new coach seems to be doing wonders

Rosslyn Park 5 - Rotherham - 1 - Rosslyn team to beat IMO

Sale FC 4 - Cinderford - 1 - cinderford stronger pack but sale will rely on superior structure and backline

The Newbies are going to be in for a shock as I believe the standard has gone up another 2 notches this closed season. The run-away days of Richmond, Hartbury & Coventry are long gone imo....
Canterbury 0 - 5 Old Elthamians
Blackheath 4 - 0 Chinnor
Cambridge 4 - 1 Rams
Darlington Mowden Park 4 - 1 Richmond
Plymouth Albion 5 - 1 Bishops Stortford
Birmingham Moseley 4  - 1 Hull Ionians
Rosslyn Park 2 - 5 Rotherham
Sale FC 4 - 1 Cinderford
If it looks like a duck & quacks like a duck it's just my rucking luck!
