It has been a long summer where negotiations - real or otherwise - have dominated the news cycle.
The Knights of the Roundy Tables are happy to announce that their own negotiations for suitable arrangements for the hosting of visiting fans at Castle Park have been concluded.
The dates which are now set in stone and shall henceforth be referred to as the Excalibur dates shall be as follows:
  • 2nd November 2019 Knights v Bedford
  • 18th January 2020 Knights v Nottingham
  • 14th March 2020 Knights v Coventry
Individual proclamations shall be made as each date approaches but the KORT sincerely hope this advance notice will encourage and allow the travelling faithful to plan and enjoy the festivities on offer.

Should you inexplicably elect to forego the Banquets, the KORT wish you a fruitful season and will hope to see some of you on our away-day crusades.

Yours in anticipation

Sir Wild Bill of Barnby Dun
Sir Peesalot
Sir Cumference de Mundy
Sir Raffalot
Sir Spicious of Orl
Sir Vile the Abhorrent
Sir Real the Bizarre
Sir Jover le Tryline
Sir Noel Tilnoon

The date draws nigh upon which the Knights of the Roundy Tables (and their fair ladies) shall host the first KORT banquet of the season.

It once again falls to the good and honest people of the famed Coventry Rugby Club to accept our invitation to be part of a pre-match celebration of all that makes rugby fun.

Having failed spectacularly to meet this challenge in the past, the KORT sincerely hope to see Coventry fans take up the gauntlet on this occasion.
A mere 16 groats is all it takes to participate but be warned - the Holy Grenade of Antioch awaits those who are unable to distinguish left from right.

The second day in the month of November is the first Excalibur date of which we speak. Phone the club now to reserve a place. The number to ring is 01302 831388 and mention the KORT.

Wishing all travelling fans well, we respectfully remain:

Sir Wild Bill of Barnaby Dun and Lady Love
Sir Spicious of Orl and Lady Lawdown
Sir Raffelot and Lady Pendragon
Sir Peesalot and Lady Licious
Sir Radius de Mundy (formerly Sir Cumference) and Lady Table of Preston
Sir Vile the Abhorrent and Lady Jardin
Sir Real the Bizarre and Lady Enigma
Sir Noel Tilnoon and Lady Bird
Sir Jover le Tryline and Lady Tover le Tryline

Yes, it is I once more.

The more astute readers may have noticed that Doncaster will not be playing rugby against Coventry on November 2nd and may therefore wonder why Coventry fans have been invited to the banquet. There is no reason other than my own stupidity. I fear I may be the recipient of the Anchor of Woe at the afore-mentioned banquet.

And so to the real invitation. The good folk and faithful fans of Bedford are equally warmly welcome to join the KORT on the occasion of our game on 2nd November along with any Coventry fans who foolishly fail to check the fixture list. Fear not Cov - your turn will come.

Bedford fans, if you wish to attend the sumptuous feast that awaits you, you are welcome to attend with brickbats and ridicule which may be heaped upon me in equal measure.

Much of the sentiment of my previous post still pertains.

We hope to see BEDFORD fans aplenty on the appointed date.

Sincerest apologies.

A brief and sincere reminder to the travelling Bedford fans (yes Bedford, not Coventry) - there are but a few days left to book your place at the pre-match KORT banquet. 12.30 prompt so forget the shenanigans in Japan, or get to Castle Park in time to watch the game alongside the Knights faithful. A grand day out awaits. Pick up the phone and make that call.

See you in Saturday.

Jed Eye -The Blues Followers coach will almost certainly miss the deadline as we're watching the Japanese shenanagins before we board.
Needless to  say I'm looking forward to our(!) second great win of the day at one of my favourite grounds!

Sad news indeed but we fully understand your predicament. We shall perhaps meet post match and exchange views on both matches.

Yesterday was the Knights' last home game until January 18th; on which date, the Knights of the Roundy Tables will host a banquet. Our friends in Nottingham are cordially invited to join us for some pre-match fun. More of that later.

One home game in December and one home game in January, but that's a gripe for another thread. 😠

Seems to be the lot of most of us at some point in this poor old league. Cov go from the 21st Dec to the 18th Jan without a home. Hopeless planning.
But as you say; for another thread really.

Yes it's depressing. Down in Nat 1 it's more exciting. Richmond holding on in spite of a massive injury list, mostly in the backs. It does give others an opportunity to show what they can do. Ace kicker Kirby is out for the rest of the season. Hodgson has emerged as the best fly half I've seen at Richmond. Also Louis Lynagh showed in the second half of Saturday's match what a good running full back can do. He is a Harlequins player now, but learned his rugby at Mond up to age 14 I believe.

The time of great feasting and merriment draws nigh. I speak not of the commercialised festivities of Christmas where over-indulgence is de rigeur, but of the unfettered joy that is a Kort banquet.

A mere ten days remain for the bravest of the brave Nottingham supporters to purchase tickets that facilitate participation. A meagre 16 groats and a phone call is all that is needed to transport the willing to a world of wonder (and corny alliteration). The fun begins at 12.30 - late comers will have to face the Holy Grenade of Antioch.

Be bold, be reckless, be warned, but mostly, be there.

This missive has been sent by Sir Spicious of Orl on behalf of the Knights of the Roundy Tables.

For the final time this season, the Knights of the Roundy Tables are polishing their armour and lubricating their vocal cords in preparation for a banquet. This time we look to our valiant friends from Coventry to share our warped idea of fun and help fill the receptacle we respectfully acknowledge as the Holy Grenade of Antioch.
Yes, on the fourteenth day of March much feasting and quaffing of ale shall precipitate singing and silliness by the assembled fans.  A small participatory fee of 16 groats will allow anyone access and a short phone call to Castle Park will guarantee a reservation. The number if you cannot be bothered to search it out is 01302 831388. The wearing of armour is not essential but guests are requested to deposit their inhibitions before entering at the appointed hour of 12.30. Do not be shy of passing this invitation to those who may, for reasons best known to themselves, decline to read this most magnificent of forums.

By way of retaliation, some members of the KORT will be attending Goldington Road on Saturday.  If any Bedford fans feel obliged to apologise for missing the last banquet we will be happy to share a beer with you.

Chivalrously yours

Sir Spicious of Orl on behalf of the Knights of the Roundy Tables
