I shall be walking past the Broomy. Hope it's not persisting down as you'll struggle to get a seat inside. Time to up the pressure on the canopy campaign!
No drinks for me until I get back home though.

I messaged them at the start of November with the polite suggestion that a canopy would be a 'great asset'.  I'm guessing by the lack of a reply (or canopy) that they don't necessarily agree... Cry

Yes, Chris Wearmouth may well have clarified it's a 5:30 ko, but it's still showing as a 5:15 KO on the club website fixture list.

Given the amount of comment generated by a 15-minute discrepancy, maybe he's worried that some might find life a bit lacking in meaning if the issue was definitively settled?!

Forecast tomorrow for Ealing is 11 degrees with a 90% chance of rain and 15 - 25 mph winds. I would postulate that that weather will favor Newcastle, as Ealing has really shined in good weather at home such as against Bedford or Coventry, but has struggled more in windy, rainy weather such as the home league match to Coventry.

Newcastle had trouble putting Bedford away in terrible conditions, but I think that the artificial pitch might negate some of the disadvantage that they had at Goldington road. Even more disappointed with what this weather will do to crowds in Ealing - lots of promotion gone on locally to get people out, and Ealing have put on a free carnival for the kids.

Okay, so here is Ealing's lineup: The good here is the back row. Reid, Durutalo, Smid give a great balance of defense, ball carrying skills, and push. In particular Durutalo's 7's experience really shows in the offloading confidence he has. I also like the front row of Trenier, Walker, Els. I think that  those three give the best scrummaging front row on offer as Cornish is speedier, but not as stout.

The bad - Dave Mckern had a man of the match performance last week, but I'd prefer the experience and steadying influence of Sam Dickinson on the field. If things start to go pearshaped, he can keep the lads from falling to bits.

The ugly - The backs in general. Shingler has had real accuracy issues in terms of conversions compared to Willis, and Hampson's dropped score last week was ridiculous. Every time Jordan Burns comes on, he does nothing but score tries for fun. Try of the week two weeks in a row. Add to that picking David Johnston over Elijah Niko or Lewis Jones just doesn't wash for me.

15 Tommy Bell
14 JCR
13 David Johnston
12 Harry Sloan
11 Reon Joseph
10 Steven Shingler
9 Craig Hampson
1 Jordan Ells
2 Alun Walker
3 Craig Trenier
4 Dave McKern
5 Harry Casson
6 Jordy Reid
7 Andrew Durutalo
8 Rayn Smid

Bench - Matt Cornish, Will Davis, Elliot Millar Mills, Sam Dickinson, Shane Buckley, Jordan Burns, Craig Willis, Kieran Murphy
