Okay, so here is Ealing's lineup: The good here is the back row. Reid, Durutalo, Smid give a great balance of defense, ball carrying skills, and push. In particular Durutalo's 7's experience really shows in the offloading confidence he has. I also like the front row of Trenier, Walker, Els. I think that  those three give the best scrummaging front row on offer as Cornish is speedier, but not as stout.

The bad - Dave Mckern had a man of the match performance last week, but I'd prefer the experience and steadying influence of Sam Dickinson on the field. If things start to go pearshaped, he can keep the lads from falling to bits.

The ugly - The backs in general. Shingler has had real accuracy issues in terms of conversions compared to Willis, and Hampson's dropped score last week was ridiculous. Every time Jordan Burns comes on, he does nothing but score tries for fun. Try of the week two weeks in a row. Add to that picking David Johnston over Elijah Niko or Lewis Jones just doesn't wash for me.

15 Tommy Bell
14 JCR
13 David Johnston
12 Harry Sloan
11 Reon Joseph
10 Steven Shingler
9 Craig Hampson
1 Jordan Ells
2 Alun Walker
3 Craig Trenier
4 Dave McKern
5 Harry Casson
6 Jordy Reid
7 Andrew Durutalo
8 Rayn Smid

Bench - Matt Cornish, Will Davis, Elliot Millar Mills, Sam Dickinson, Shane Buckley, Jordan Burns, Craig Willis, Kieran Murphy

I’ve got huge concerns with this selection. Ealing have leaked tries all season through the 13 channel and the empty shirt is back ‘filling’ it. I really hope some serious defensive work has been done on the training park.

I think that might be the strongest starting 15 I've ever seen at championship level. some top players in there.

I hate to say that I agree. I don't relish Sinoti Sinoti matched up against Reon Joseph, I fear he'll run the poor lad over.

I was just thinking that - how the hell did they get relegated with a squad like that?

This is the real test for Ealing Trailfinders as to where they sit in the grand scheme of things. Home advantage and a strong selection and a very robust bench.

I would have liked to see Kieran Murphy over Andrew Duratalo. Also Burns and Willis to start but I think they will be on pretty quick.

We need to drain Floods resolve, run at him relentlessly, Jordy Reid , Rayn Smid, Duratalo..... followed by a finishing desert helping of Murphy.

I honestly believe we can beat the Falcons .

I think the Trailfinders and Falcons packs are both really strong and should win their own ball in set play. Rodney Ah You would have been a big plus for Falcons if he was available and I would have started with Joel Hodgson at 10. Dave McKern could be the key asset for Trailfinders as he can play like an extra flanker and really takes the pressure off Durutalo, Reid & Smid - his fitness this season has been extraordinary. Ealing need to defend well in midfield, avoid yellow cards and take the Falcons on - should be a brilliant match.

I understand the desire to see Murphy over Durutalo, as he is a real bulldozer of a player with great hands. In this case, I prefer to see Durutalo for his better offloading skills and slightly higher agility, but these two have been battling for the first team shirty all year, and it really is nearly a toss up. I completely agree on preferring Burns and Willis.

I too believe that Ealing can win this. A very tough match, but they'll be massively up for it.

There’s optimism and then there’s blind optimism. Yes, I have reservations about a couple of selections but yes, I also have a guarded degree of optimism about the result.

Bedford have essentially sold out the game on Boxing Day, so expecting an attendance of around 6000. Wonder how much they’ll get for the top of the table clash?

ClapClapClap. that is phenomenal support. I know Bedford have a great following and it is a derby but its not like Blues are setting the league alight this season. puts a lot of other  championship clubs to shame.

I would expect 5000,similar to the women's International, but it will still be a great atmosphere. Financially, having Ampthill in our division is a great bonus, hope the game and result is equally positive.

That's the entire population of Bedfordshire isn't it?
Seriously though, there are going to be a lot of restricted views if so. It always seems a bit unrealistic to call the capacity of a ground with a relatively small stand and mainly flat standing areas that high.
Not a criticism; just an observation based on my own standing experiences at GR.
Good luck if you can do it though!

News from the Coventry ticket office today is that the grandstand at the BPA is effectively sold out with pairs or groups of seats only available in the end blocks.

That’s 2,800 seated under cover, as well as however many will be lining the fences in the other three sides.
