Despite the huge amount of time we have waited for rugby I fear that the league will be really skewed this season.

Doncaster, Ealing and Sarries have been able to train throughout and have played a number of competitive games. The rest of the clubs will have very poor preparation going into the first few games . .  so should be expect cricket scores and lots of injuries?

How many pre-season games will each club have? As contact training has had to be limited?

Most clubs, because of the cost of testing, have limited themselves to 30 players in a squad, if there are injuries and they need to add players what are the protocols?
Run with it

Bedford and Ampthill meeting twice, one home and one away.
Obviously Premiership clubs not available and National 1 clubs still not playing. So no Cambridge option for Bedford.
Looking forward to new beginnings.

That is very proactive, with current season not even complete!

I dunno. I'd bet an awful lot of games are already arranged. Just not announced yet.

Friday evening the RFU wrote to all Championship clubs saying they were not to play any National League sides pre season.

The Championship is regarded as " elite" sport. Hence why they were able to play in Feb.
I understand talking to my source at a National league 1 club, they received the same some weeks before.

So the question is ... How do sides like Richmond, Ampthill, Jersey play players in the 2nd xv's to get them game time, or if they are coming back from injury or if they have been dropped.
Many clubs are part time in the champ now, you could have 2 people working in the same office sitting next to each other all week, only for them not to be allowed to play against each other on a Saturday,

We all know that Richmond run a 2s ad 3s in the Zoo leagues. So how will they play players in those sides that have had no game time ?
Also how are those sides going to get a pre season fixture or even train?
Because they are classed as and train with an "elite sport squad". You cannot train with the 1st xv on a Thursday night and one set of players be ok to play sides that are not elite on the Saturday and the other set of players not be allowed to.

They have again not thought this through.

The next point will be how can a side in National 1 receive loan players from a side that is classed as "elite"
If they cannot play against each other how can they then loan a player to them.

Blackheath have announced a loan deal with Ealing, Chinnor loan from many sides every season, Cinderford use Gloucester, Plymouth would not get a side out without Exeters younger players, Taunton the same with Exeter, sale with Sale Sharks, Stortford with Saracens the list in National 1 is endless, with most sides having "loan players" in their xv's each week.

How can "elite" sportsman play and train at full time clubs in the week, but be ok to go out on loan on Saturdays to clubs they cannot even have a fixture against pre season!

I'd like to know peoples take on this!

I would imagine for example Premiership players loaned to National 1 clubs  are season long loans so they would train with that club.

Sorry, nothing is a season long loan!.

What if the mother club has injuries, player is recalled, simple!
And also, there is not one National 1 club full time, so what does the player do, train 2 nights a week and play X Box a lot during the day?

Sorry but the players train all week long at the mother club and are loaned out at weekends, only to return on Mondays.. Yes the agreement may well be to loan this player for the season, but you can bet as much as you like he's training Monday to Friday where he is paid.

Maybe the High Court of Justice on the Strand is the best place for all this to be resolved?

Getting back on topic, I noticed in Coventry's notice of season ticket arrangements, they mention pre-season matches against teams from Wasps and Gloucester.

Yes, Wasps we knew about, but Glaws seems to have replaced Mose.
Seems we get to keep the Moseley Trophy for another year then Wink

I read somewhere that National league 1 and 2 clubs were advised not to have pre season friendlies against Championship sides.

Probably wise not to as well given the players will have had such a long time off below the championship. A few injuries from the games against championship clubs in normal pre seasons gone by.

So how will an "Elite" player registered to a Championship club be allowed to go out to a Nat1 or Nat2 club on loan or via dual registration?
