Do people know what kind of a squad Hartpury have?
I ask, as, judging by the predictions so far on here, they've been written off. Just wondering. Edit: Not by everyone, admittedly, but the consensus seems to be going that way.

Rucking Idiot, so should all wickets be prepared for massive unpredictable spin, kick and bounce?

So, PaddyPower think Ampthill are 4th favourites to win the Grand Final. And this got me thinking about the possibilities of Ampthill getting promoted to the Premiership for the 2021/22 season.
First off, the club would have to get electricity installed nearer the 1st team pitch. Secondly, rugby reporters and bloggers would have to start spelling Ampthill correctly. And of course, the already famous walk through the woods would become a major tourist attraction. Mark Lavery and Paul Turner would be knighted and then poached by Saracens to get them out of the Championship. My old rugby mate, Mike Plant, would become a best-selling author. And finally, PaddyPower would offer odds of 80/1 for Ampthill to win the Premiership in 2022/23. On the other hand…………. |

I thought Ampthill were looking to move about a mile down the road. So they could get everything arranged better - selling the current site to a supermarket.

Hi Camquin, yes they are. The new site will be just about bang opposite the new Center Parcs, which will be quite handy for all the visiting premiership rugby stars to stay at when playing Ampthill.........

I’m not sure the Saracens v Ealing final is the banker that everyone thought after today’s results. I think Ealing would have wanted Sarries to win today because bear in mind Trailfinders have to go away to the Mennaye and to Saracens. Both Pirates and Ealing have to go to Cov so no difference there:
Let’s compare the away games for both teams: ET: Pirates: Nottingham Richmond Coventry Doncaster Cornish Pirates Nottingham Saracens Coventry Bedford Jersey Well Ealing should win at Notts but Coventry and Bedford aren’t gimmes. Pirates and Saracens are very difficult away games. As for CP i would expect them to win at Mond and Notts. Coventry is tricky but Ealing have to go there as well. Donny will be much improved this year but Pirates have a terrific record at Castle Park. Jersey away will be difficult. I’d take Pirates’ away games over Ealing’s. Could come down to bonus points.

I don't disagree that Ealing has the slightly harder schedule, but I'm happy to see Pirates win. My dream scenario is that Sarries drop another game (Jersey), and don't even make the playoffs at all. ;)

They'd have no choice, they'd have to keep promotion/relegation. Unless they want to shut out one of their own in the cold.
