Round 5 (or V!) Predictions

Well the teams are having a well-earned rest next week. These are the fixtures they are going to be coming back to in a couple of weeks’ time:

Predictions:

Exactement.

Cornish Pirates 0-5 Ealing. Averaging nearly 60 points a game I think Ealing will score at least 4 tries and keep the Pirates at bay.
Doncaster 4-1 Jersey. Doncaster keep grinding out the wins, but never by much.
Hartpury 5-1 Nottingham. Both teams will be targetting a win for this fixture and I think home advantage will have it.
Saracens 5-0 Bedford. Most likely for the first time this season it will be a full Premiership side versus a mid table Championship side. It will be interesting.
And finally.......
Coventry 1-4 Ampthill. I don't think the A's have won at Barkers Butt but they are pleasingly improving with every game and this is a very good opportunity to start winning on the road. But it will be tough.

Thanks, Kimbo, for making me feel a lot better. To be fair though, I said Barkers Butts because way back in the very early seventies, when I was plying my rugby trade with Bedford Athletic, we used to play them. I am obviously stuck in a time warp.

The Millais jungle telegraph has picked up word that Jersey may soon announce two spectacular new signings ahead of next week's "home" match against Donny which will be played at Castle Park. On the playing side it is understood that Jersey will register the outstanding academy prospect Rana Dalmatina who despite his diminutive size is considered an outstanding lineout prospect particularly on wet pitches. Even more exciting to Jersey's home supporters is the dubious report that Jersey have secured the services of Donny's famous Mage Taurus-Strudel who has set outstanding levels of customer service at Castle Park for many years and is expected to travel back to Jersey on the executive charter next week.
