It is of mutual benefit, he gets to train and play keeping fit. The Blues get a player where we have been short on numbers and experience in the centres.

I don't disagree!  But I recall quite a few fans were excited for us to have signed him last time, only for him to leave almost straight away when Zebre came in.  Guess that's why Blues have not really mentioned it this time round.  Quality player to have though whilst we can use him!

Tom Pittman (f-h) Boroughmuir Bears to Jersey
Bader Pretorius (f-h) Jersey to Chinnor (loan)
Ciaran Parker (prop) Jersey to London Irish (even tho' the Championship doesn't develop top-flight players)

islander, would that be the same Ciaran Parker that played his schoolboy rugby in Manchester then County, then Age Rep Rugby, then Sale Sharks for 3 years, then Munster, then Leinster and then Jersey?

Bit disingenuous to claim any assist in a 26 year old Prop that has played less than a dozen games for you don't you think.

Credit where credit is due, in this case I don't think the Reds can take any.

That's right PP, you'll see his former clubs credited on his Reds website profile, which hasn't yet been deleted. We're not claiming sole credit, but nevertheless this is someone who hadn't quite made it at the top level, came here for a season-and-a-bit, impressed (including a few weeks' short-term loan with Leinster) and has earned another crack at the top level. Like Kieran Hardy a few years ago - he's now playing for Wales...

A bit harsh mate - Jersey naturally "big up" their role when a player moves on to a bigger stage. I watched Brett Herron play for Biarritz on last weekend after his move via Quins but still remember his contribution to some cracking games during his time here. The real credit Jersey should get imo is they never stand in the way of a player who gets a chance at a higher level.

Would said player have got this opportunity if he hadn't of spent that limited season with Jersey? Probably not, as such some credit is due, yes the other teams that he developed through get a shout as well. He had obviously been passed over by clubs in the big boy leagues for one reason or another and needed time in the second tier to reconcile and find his spark again and that is where Jersey gets credit because they gave him that assist.

Props are valuable and a season in the Championship with regular first team play is good experience. Jersey provided that.

Bedford do now confirm the signing of Jamie Elliott until the end of the season. Clearly given up on a better offer!

Doncaster Will Holling goes on a short term loan to Wasps.

Keep seeing Championship players moving to the Prem, funny that im sure some kn-ob from the rfu said we don't produce any prem quality players.

Zak Farrance (lock), who spent several seasons in France with Oyonnax earlier in his career, moves back there after 16 months with Jersey Reds, having joined SU Agen. They are towards the bottom of ProD2 but looking to head away from relegation & have invested accordingly... LINK
