Absolutely agree Big Eddie - all this "partnering up" is just dressing up what is actually going on but whilst many, not all, Championship clubs are happy to sign up - God knows why - then where does it all end? I think they need to decide whether they are a "proper" rugby club with their own identity and ambitions or just a Premiership nursery school with a different name

Could you please quantify “many” for those of us who follow the Championship??

OK Cheshire Exile maybe my point extends beyond just the Championship but we now have Bedford officially partnered up with Northampton Nottingham ditto Leicester and now London Scottish with Harlequins Plus however many hundred of "spare", "academy" Premiership registered players are loaned or DR'd out to Championship, Nat1 and Nat2 clubs who despite their objections and constant complaining about lack of funding are giving the Premiership clubs exactly what they want - total control. When the upper echelons of the "Community" game acts in such a manner is it any wonder the RFU treats their whinges with disdain? (Don't get me wrong I am no fan of our governing body)

I agree Thatbloke It would be interesting to see if all Championship an Nat 1 sides agreed that nobody would use Premiership Academy players what the reaction would be. Obviously it would not help England future Internationals but that might make the RFU pay the Championship clubs a significant amount of money for their cooperation

The RFU does not have any more money to give away.
It was running at a loos pre-covid, to survive during Covid it cut funding to Premiership and Championship clubs by £20m.

Not disputing what you say CQ, but… autumn international tkt application forms have recently been circulated to clubs, with std prices for Eng/NZ from £96 to £210 - it’s not surprising some people wonder where the money goes.

Mainly on keeping the cabbage patch standing.
Before covid
£56m in administration and non match day Stadium costs
£36m in match day cost of sales - food, drink and match day staff.
£27m to the Premiership clubs £23m to the International teams
£10m to referees and other officials
£9m on development / outreach
£6m to the Championship clubs
£5m to other clubs, mainly on 4g pitches £3m running other league, including insurance

Has anyone seen the 'Championship 2021-2022 signings and departures' thread? I could have sworn it was around here somewhere.

And Josh Barton (9) taking a similar route from Cov to Newcastle. You'd have thought these fancy Prem outfits would know better, eh?

Barton appeared 17 times for Chinnor on loan from London Scottish, including the play-off win over Sedgley Park in 2017/18
