Dave you can say that again and I wasn’t even there. Just getting the  blow by blow updates kept me out of my seat. Putting Stour and Sedge aside this is looking like a really competitive league this season. Next up Hull at home.

See you Saturday Dave

All the best

Rugby the massive winner today. One of the best games I have ever seen.
Massive credit both teams. Maybe that’s proven our credentials

Sad that this and similar long standing fixtures will probably be no more from next season.
What if the Hokey Kokey really IS what it's all about?

Totally agree - N2 is a great level with 2 leagues which are relatively mature (teams have some long standing fixtures/friendships/rivalries) - it isn't broken so why change it????

Because the Lancashire clubs refused to go to Cumbria.
This caused the Blazers to think they had to do something.
This is something, therefore we are doing it.

It will be what it will be but at this level friendships, acquaintances and enjoyment are nearly as important as winning every Saturday.
Ps. Why are we listening to people from Lancashire 😂

Apologies, didn't realise that applied to level 4?

As far as I am aware there are no Cumbrian teams that high up the pyramid

The problem in Lancashire and Cumbria is not solely about travel but also the fairly healthy existence of rugby league where there is almost a club on every street corner. The upshot of this is that most of the lowish level RL Leagues are compacted very tightly around geographical areas so virtually all your away games can be within 10 miles or so, at worst 30 so why would your average rugby player who isn't getting paid to play choose to sit on a bus for 5 or 6 hours every other Saturday when they can enjoy rugby on their doorstep every weekend
Obviously a different scenario exists for semi-pro RU clubs higher up the pyramid

If you swap code, you will be heading up to the same Cumbrian villages - all of which have two rugby clubs.  You are on the same caches up the M6 whether you are in North 2 West or the National Conference League.

And Raider no, this does not apply directly to level 4, but it was one of the things that forced the RFU to make changes. This review has been ongoing since 2019, with the former Adult Game Review started in 2011 and published in 2014, but not implemented.

I'm sorry but I still fail to see why a problem at level 6/7 should be taken into account when deciding to change level 4 to 3 leagues.

The fact that this started 10 years ago but has never been implemented shows that the solutions were not well received.
At best they are now well out of date.

Maybe they should have a rethink?

Can someone explain then what the scenario will be in terms of promotion and relegation between League 2 and 1?
