Bishop's Stortford v Caldy. 5-1

Both were well below par last week and a shadow of where they really are.

Think the bounce back from Stortford being home will be better.

Leeds Tykes v Tonbridge Juddians 5-0

Leeds won on the road at big spenders Cambridge and apart from the first 20 minutes controlled the game. TJ’s won also but Im going for Leeds to back up last weeks win, when was the last time Leeds went back to back wins in a league game, was it still 4 points for a try?

Plymouth Albion v Darlington Mowden Park 1-5 Albi were dreadful last week. Should have beaten TJ’s with ease.

Understand they had some problems pre game with a COVID test or two failing and had to change the side at the last minute, but it's a measure of how far they have fallen still to lose that. Last time out DMP won and Im going for them too back it up.

Rams v Blackheath 5-0

Rams had a week off and will be refreshed after the Cindy win. Club won poorly last week v Stortford, Rams to take all 5 and put Club to the sword, I expect Blackheath to fall back into the bottom 1/3 of the table come Saturday night and people looking over their shoulders with Rams closing the gap at the top

Rosslyn Park v Chinnor 5-1

Fair play to Park on the road last week. What Chinnor side turns up to this fixture, that’s the question. They are 3rd in the league, but are anything but consistent. However Park will not miss the chance to go top with Cindy not playing. There is already talk about them being in the Champ next year from several members of coaching staff and players, that’s funny because we have the Ski season to get over first as Ranger pointed out and also that fat lady is fast asleep still. Ive a feeling there will be a few twists in this yet and it will be anything but one way traffic for the City Slickers.

Sale FC v Birmingham Moseley 5-0

Sale, hats off, last 3 games on the road, turned over Rams, DMP and Cindy, now that’s what you call a decent set of results (Mr Williams note, that’s a “Hot Streak”) , form team at present no question. If they remember where the home ground is, being at Heywood Road  they will have much too much for an underperforming Moseley side who have made some interesting signings this week.

Taunton v Cambridge 5-1

Taunton, home ,fully loaded with Chiefs,Bears and an injured Prior back at 8 will have too much I think. Cambridge poor last week, when they couldn’t put away a side second to bottom having been 15-0 up inside 15 minutes. I was however very interested to read another classic Mr Williams quote this week, that did make me laugh.

” We were on a bit of a hot streak before Saturday, but we were probably all aware that we weren’t going to go the rest of the season unbeaten”

Correct me if I’m wrong. But you have a win ratio of 45%, that is a long way from going the rest of the season unbeaten, it says to me you win half your remains 16 games, you have not been in the top 6 of the league this year, you have not won 12 from 12 and are 15 points clear and out of all the sides you have played that are above you, you have won one game. You have 2 draws and 4 wins, 3 of which were against lower sides. “ Hot streak”   Whatever you are drinking I’d love some!

As always, all said in jest, tis the season to be jolly!

I don't agree with Scrumtime about his prediction for Park v Chinnor for the following reasons which are supported by verifiable evidence under oath:
1. Its impossible for Park to keep winning
2. Drinking heavily with decorative ladies in Fulham affects performance on the pitch - look at the Fulham soccer team - poor results most recently
3. Gone are the days of Dennis Compton drinking all night and turning up at Lord's still in his dinner jacket and making a century before lunch - maybe Botham was the last one to do that????
4. It is all very dull these days compared to my day going on trips with Rosslyn Park and Oliver Read
5. Oliver was a proper social player - albeit he only made the second XV as a prop
6. Too many mobile phones with cameras these days

My prediction is Park 3 Chinnor 0

Could be a Boosey lunch

If you're not on the pitch you can't win the game
