So it was the last 16 of U18 Cup on Sunday.
It is now after work on Monday.
Are the results up on the RFU site.
God no.
I had to search on Twitter.

Luctonians U18s beat Kingsbridge Colts
Cambridge Colts 24 - 23 Bury St Edmunds U18s
Tynedale Colts 19 - 27 West Park Leeds
Sheffield U18 8 - 12 Keyworth RFC Colts
Lichfield U18 Senior Colts 23 - 25 Kettering RFC U18M
Harpenden U18 22 -39 Blackheath U18
Richmond Under 18s 7-47 Tonbridge Juddians U18
Guildford RFC U18 27- 22 Worthing Colts

Does anyone know when the draw for the quarter-finals is?

It was a cracking game at Cambridge. With two minutes to go, Bury scored in the corner and had a conversion kick to take the lead, but could not make it.

It seems the future of rugby is on good hands.

The next match is scheduled for 13th Feb but i think this could cause an issue due to half term

To be fair to the RFU - not a phrase i use very often - I can see the logic. Four teams likely to be travelling cross-country, give them the weekend where they do not need to be at school on Monday.

And most clubs will have looked at that and said, we have a week off for half-term, as nobody will have expected to still be in the competition. Perhaps hoped, but not expected.

As it has fallen, probably the worst journey would be Luctonians to Tonbridge, or vice versa.
About four hours by car. Luctonians, or their opponents, face at least two hours in the car.

My thoughts are that lots of schools use this half term for skiing trips so would be away that first weekend. Tonbridge to West Park would also be a trek of 5 hours so perhaps the “draw” should put West Park and Luctonians together then all the rest would be 1 - 1.5 hours 😜
Good luck to all but I may be a bit biased

While I have never owned a cloth cap or a whippet, and having skied as an adult, I am one of many who never went on a school skiing trip. Nor a scuba diving trip to the Red Sea, nor a trip to Iceland.

Now where did I put my tiny violin.

It’s the modern world we live in, some schools do rugby tours to South Africa - Argentina and the likes obviously not now under current conditions

You have just highlighted why this is in half term....this is a club competition and not a schools cup.
The playing calendar is so full they have to have designated weekends and if it was on a term time weekend some players would not be available as they would be playing school rugby.

Camquin, I assume when you say ‘the future of Rugby is in good hands’ refers to the talent on show on Sunday and not the ‘Clowns’ who run the game?

Yes - the RFU are only saved from being the worst English sporting body by the utter incompetence of the ECB.

Cam, missed the game Sunday - had hoped to come and watch...
From memory the draw will still be regional where poss...i.e North and Mids, South and South West till the Semis...but things may have changed.

The RFU put all their eggs into England winning the 2019 World Cup reversing the decline in numbers in Mini & Youth Rugby.
It is alarming to say the least at how many Clubs cannot field a Colts side.

Congratulations to Leeds, they were the better side. 12-34.
Commiserations to Keyworth who drew 12-12 with Kettering, but Kettering go through as the away side.
Well done to Tonbridge Juddians and Guildford.

Reckon this isn't just as much as the RFU Faults, but the management of some of these clubs were they may lose players to ACE/Academy/College/School rugby and could have retained these players if they knew how to work/maneouvr around certain challenges. Too many local club coaches are small minded in terms of the players and the operations of a side.

Agree that clubs lose players to ACE/Academy/Collage/schools, especially before Christmas, where these organisations 'tell' the age grade (who most likely have been playing with their mates since they were six)  players they cannot play for their clubs, leaving them struggling to field teams. Dropout22 ,what would you suggest club coaches do in this situation?
It really was from the 22....

Kettering 18 - 22 West Park Leeds
Tonbridge Juddians 8 - 7 Guildford

Tonbridge streamed the game

Congratulations to Tonbridge and West Park, best of luck to both in the final.
