I agree there's a bit of 'show-offery' in people posting stuff they know about (or have been told by sources, some of which are more reliable than others)... but at the same time fairly sanguine about it, transfer chat is what happens in online forums + social media + columns like the one in TRP. Occasionally gossip is malicious, but not usually.
Jersey Reds' main wave of signings completed today with 4 more permanent joiners: scrum-halves Toby Venner (Glos) & Jonny Law (Tiggers); fly-half Russell Bennett (Amps); centre Alex McHenry (Munster). Plus a loanee from Glaws - back rower Josh Gray

I would have thought that not naming names creates speculation as to who the players might be, which is actually less helpful - and more frustrating - than knowing nothing at all. We all know that every club will lose some players and gain new ones to replace them, so in effect you're not actually telling us anything we don't already know.

I'd rather not mention the name until the relevant club's media department has announced it. Sometimes this can be way down in september... and for some fans to know they have gained//lost some players even if they don't know the name is better then knowing nothing at all. Not sure why some are offended by it.... Just trying to add to the forum. At the end of the day it's a supporter's forum.... where supporters can say their piece.

100% correct. And by the way 79 Richmond players have left to play in the Scottish Super Six.

If it's a courtesy, then don't mention it at all.
As it is it comes across as "I know more than you" dick waving and is massively irritating.

Perhaps because of the courtesy of waiting for the signing club to announce first? Or maybe the club mentions someone else is leaving to go to Caldy but doesn’t mention the name…,,

Why do you constantly announce these Richmond departures without saying who they are? It’s really weird

Another Richmond outside back moving to Caldy.
Moving away due to the property prices in the capital. He's done a fair few years full/time in league also.
