Painter was a beast in the scrum and one that we would have wanted for Jersey and Ealing coming up.

Something of a 'prop-go-round' yesterday, including England-capped Trevor Davison from Falcons to Saints, a move that some are suggesting contributed to head coach Dave Walder reaching the end of his tether and leaving. You wonder if any club in bottom half of the Prem would allow a key player to leave in mid-March if they were battling the possibility of relegation.

Hell of a signing by Blues ahead of final month of season in which they entertain the top 2, dispute local bragging rights in a ‘Battle of Beds’ & then face possible third-place ‘play-off’ with Cov…

Could they have not waited a day or two? Next I suppose that Donny will sign Manu Tuilagi and Jersey will get Maro Itoje.

Ealing sign prop Lewis Boyce from Bath for the rest of the season. Suspect some injury news may have been more severe than expected.

Don’t quite know where to post this as it doesn’t deserve its own thread but ex Ealing head coach Alex Codling has been appointed as Newcastle’s next head coach…

Historically that’s par for the course.

How is he doing on his quest to play or coach at every Premiership Club?

Wonder if Chris Ashton will go into coaching, he's already covered plenty of Prem ground in playing career as mapped in today's Times (Tigers, Saints, Sharks, Sarries, Wuss, Quins) to give 'Codders' a run for his money...

He might need the money! He obviously doesn't feel at home in the West Country - no Exeter, Bath, Bristol or Gloucester. That leaves Irish ......

They appear to be at sixes and sevens over the number leaving, is it eight or nine?
And do we know where they are going?

Definitely 9. No official news but hearing two to Newcastle, one or two to Edinburgh, the rest no idea. Though I am nowhere near the news, whereas some supporters seem to know all movements way ahead of the game.

Thinking about it, there has been recent speculation about potentially one or two France, too. Though really, I don't know.

Etiquette is that the ‘old’ club doesn’t announce the destination club unless it’s been officially confirmed…
