Why will you not be going to Nottingham ?.

Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Bedford v Ampthill on Boxing Day. Common sense finally prevails thus guaranteeing a 5,000 plus crowd.

Which would probably happen anyway. A full house against opposition that would not otherwise attract such support would be better.

I think the reasoning is that the away team do not want to spend hours travelling at Christmas

Because: - I don't want to. - It's Christmas, and I'll have lots more important things to do. - I don't want to.

Yes, we get 5,000 irrespective of opposition on Boxing Day! It would have been better to have pretty much any other team. Although at least we have a home game, better than not.

I have grown up with Boxing Day sport (rugby or football). Bedford prior to league games hosted Old Paulines, then a Bedfordshire Team. You cite Moseley, was Coventry v Moseley a ‘traditional’ festive fixture?

The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

Yes it was. So what? It certainly never took precedence over real life for me, even if I attended once or twice.

Used to enjoy the Barbarians at Welford Road on Boxing Day, was a big day out for the East Midlands back then.
