Because I messed up, whilst watching the Bristol match Wasn’t even 1 try… it was 2, so not sure where 1 came from… I think I thought they deserved if for a comeback with 13 players!

Really tough game tonight at Stade Santander. Strong winds and rain blowing down the pitch throughout. Pirates defended superbly in the first half to foil attack after attack, but attrition eventually paid off with two penalty tries purely from the pressure. In the second half Pirates came out of the blocks fast and scored quick tries and it looked like they were certainly playing the conditions better, but Jersey managed to stabilise. Key moment just after the Jersey yellow under pressure where Jersey got a turnover and were able to clear the danger. A few minutes later a clearance kick from the Pirates own goal area went the full length of the pitch and dead. Resulting scrum from 5m out Jersey managed to force another penalty try. Pirates really unlucky not to get anything from the game but Jersey showed resilience under huge pressure and were able to secure the win.

Ealing Team to face Coventry: Strong side. Tizzano looked great last week, and I would have expected him over Farrar. Good to see Malton back after the line out struggled mightily. 15. Simon Linsell 6. Rob Farrar 7. Simon Uzokwe 8. Rayn Smid (C) Replacements: 16. Cam Terry 17. James Gibbons 18. Jimmy Roots 19. Barney Maddison 20. Will Montgomery 21. Jordan Burns 22. I was at the Reds game in an off-duty capacity (for 1st time ever that I can recall, at home). I agree with summaries above by CC & IIHTY. YC count was 1-4

Blues went down the slope 1st half
HT Blues (BP) 38-5 (1 try) Caldy 6 tries from Blues and a couple of yellows! 2nd was incredibly harsh. Caldy defence is leaky and look like they are already tiring. I’m attack they’ve had a couple of mauls and the beginning and end of the half. Edited by The Blues - 01 Oct 2022 at 15:48 |

FT Blues (5) 52 - 29 (1) Caldy
Blues seemed to switch off after 55/60mims when they made all their subs and allowed Caldy back into it.

Caldy didn’t give up, so probably deserved a bonus point but to say a couple of them were dubious would be an understatement but if the referee doesn’t spot the big knock on you play on and score it. Blues lost the last 20 mins after 0 - 19
