Unchanged starting XV for Coventry from that which won away at Nottingham on Boxing Day. Minor changes in the replacements.

Cornish Pirates 4 v 1 Nottingham
Caldy 4 v 1 Richmond - Can't bet against Caldy at home now.
Doncaster 5 v 1 Hartpury - Donny to defend the castle.
Coventry 5 v 1 Jersey Reds - An emotional Cov to come out all-guns-firing, then hold on for the win.
Ealing 5 v 0 Ampthill - If history is anything to go by, Ealing will come out after a loss with their hair on fire.
LS 0 v 5 Bedford Blues - Can't pick LS

Ealing Trailfinders team to face Ampthill:

Forwards seem a little thin, and I'd like to know where Malton is. Interesting to see Nathan Earle make his debut on the wing. Good to see Bods back in the centres, he seems to have the ability to always make the first man miss.

15. Jonah Holmes

14. Nathan Earle (Debut)

13. Max Bodilly

12. Pat Howard

11. Cian Kelleher

10. Craig Willis

9. Craig Hampson

1. Kyle Whyte

2. Jan-Henning Campher

3. Lewis Thiede

4. David O'Connor (C)

5. Danny Cutmore

6. Rob Farrar

7. Carlo Tizzano

8. Jack Digby

Replacements:

16. Cam Terry

17. James Gibbons

18. George Davis

19. Bobby De Wee

20. Simon Uzokwe

21. Jordan Burns

22. Steven Shingler

23. Rayn Smid

Watching the live stream and Pirates no where near the standard they showed against Donny. Archers have had about 80% of the play and on balance should be further ahead. Pirates must have more to show second half in front of a decent crowd which the commentators estimated at around 1600. Stream quality first class. Half time pirates 5-6 Archers.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Great to make it to the Cov pre-match event tonight. I’m afraid limited visitors there, in fact just Mrs Islander & I, but some great banter, home-made pie & very good ale… roll on match-day!

Good to see you and Mrs Islander again, without the rush of a match.

Both defences were very good, especially Pirates in the first 20 mins or so when the dangerous Nottingham backs were kept out.

Fully agree on the defences mate but Archers were absolutely profligate going forward. Late in the second half when that lad ran clear down the right hand touchline he could have scored untouched in the corner by any defender but angled in towards the posts & the defensive cover and SNT who was my MOTM stopped him a yard short. Great result for Pirates but I hope they play like that against Jersey in a couple of weeks rather than the way they played against Donny when they were really good. Weather looked like a proper Cornish January and brilliant crowd in those conditions.

Weather in West London terrible. Rain between steady and pouring with gusty winds. Probably doesnt play to Ealing strengths.

Ealing 0 - Ampthill 7 (1T) - 10' - Ampthill rolling maul crashes over on the 4th attempt. Ealing have given away about 8 pens so far. Last pen was a howler by Sir as Ealing player was pushed back into the ruck. The rest seemed reasonable.

Ealing 7 (1T) - Ampthill 7(1T) - 21'. Holmes squirts through after a few phases near the try line.
