I agree the referee missed a few crucial calls - like you I thought a prop should have probably gone for 10 mins, on the flip side, once the line judge / assistant ref spotted your loose head dropping his shoulder the scrum seemed to even up after that. Not saying that happened all the time prior to that though - your pack was stronger for sure.

Offsides didn’t seem to be present in the referees book - the Blues seemed to always be a yard in front ( but as the old saying goes play to the referees whistle so onwards we go). It was a very entertaining game and I thought the blues were the better team for most of that game but somehow we clawed our way back numerous times. The slope and wind gave advantage both halves as each team won a half 28-14.

I think two weeks time will be another humdinger - going to try to get there if at all possible.
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

With nothing to play for I felt Blues threw the game away but you have to give credit to Knights who looked out of it for large parts of the game but clawed it back twice.

Referee missed a few crucial things and how Blues ended up with 2 yellows and nothing for the Knights props where if we were playing Jersey we would have lost 2 for yellows and then another for uncontested scrums.

Blues came to entertain in a dead rubber and the fans were entertained although slightly disappointed it wasn’t the win.

Great kicking by both kickers as many of the tries were closer to the touchline.

They was a lot of physicality and big hits so I imagine in 2 weeks time it is going to be even more fiercely contested.

That was just a warm up KB.  Expect nearly 4000 for the forthcoming Friday night match. Even though it was a dead rubber for The Blues yesterday, Bedfordians love their rugby and Doncaster came to play, which made a great afternoon.

Despite Ampthill and Bedford being in the same BBC Radio Station area, the five Football League clubs get full match commentaries, however BBC 3CR give little air time to the clubs either on a Saturday or Tuesday.
Nothing about the possible changes like Championship reducing to 10 teams.
The affect of Wasps being dropped in the league next season.

Even this Tuesday, with no,football, I don’t expect any extra rugby talk.

Certainly if the mergers take place at BBC Locals, I will say the scant, rugby scores if they remember will reduce. Under the impression evening’s will only opt out when live commentary happens.

Worth nothing the same station often does not give out Bishops Stortford or Old Albanians scores.

Not even a rugby,’reporter’.

After conceding an early try, they were superb for the rest of the half and it was only down to some desperate defending that kept the Reds ahead until a fantastic break by the Jersey 9 led to the second try on the stroke of HT.
The Reds came out with purpose in the second half and built an unassailable lead before Nottingham showed great spirit to come at them again scoring one of the breakaway tries of the season in the process.
Jersey were worthy winners, but the score did flatter

Agree with that Brizz. Would also mention assistant ref Ian Bibey. Due on the last flight on Thu, fog cancellation meant he couldn’t get another flight until 4ish on match-day. He was due at 5.10 but landed half an hour late. Straight to club & while warming up is advised by ref that he will have to take charge as a result of ref’s back injury. He’s at the upper end of the spectrum for high-level refs (late 40s) & hadn’t reffed a game this season, but he did excellently… Clap
The merry whistle-blowers come in for some stick, so well done for applauding a good ref performance
A 5star performance from the match officials including the "big lad" who ran touch on the North side second half & got ribbed for eating all the pies by the St Ouen's mob who like me loiter near the big screen. We wouldn't have rugby without these lads.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Congratulations to Doncaster for keeping going to the very end, and getting the score that gets them through
It looks to have been a thrilling match right to the final whistle.

BUT A PENALTY TRY FOR DONNY ON LAST PLAY (5-2) Still playing Blues 42-35 Donny

Now 42 ALL or twitter is teasing me.

Blues 28-21 Knights sounds like a great contest

now 28 all so Donny get at least 1 point and currently looking at 3.

Now Blues 35-28 Donny (5-2) as it stands would be enough for Donny.
