A good performance by the Reds yesterday, but it was by no means perfect against a Hartpury side that would not go away.
Having raced into a 16 point lead, scoring 3 tries in the process (the first two were sublime), Jersey seemed to fall asleep for 5 minutes and that let Hartpury score 2 tries of their own to bring it back to a 2 point game. Jersey woke up and got the BP try on the half hour and we thought that this would be the bit where Jersey tear loose, but once again Hartpury we’re having none of it and we turned round 24-22. To be fair Jersey bossed the 2nd half and probably left a few points out there scoring only 2 tries for all of their possession and territorial advantage. One of which was bizarre. A good Jersey break was stopped 5 meters from the visitors line. The Jersey player tried to pass out of the tackle only to find a retreating Hartpury defender who somehow palmed/chested the ball back across the line only for a Jersey player to pounce on it.
Anyway, a decent game played on a stunning spring afternoon. We’ll take that!!
Tackle Low!!!!!

A pretty good outcome for The Pirates at the RAG. With Exeter recalling their dual reg guys to prepare for the Premiership Cup final and a number of injuries we were down to the bare bones and had a prop on the bench covering the back row. LS had all their Quins guys, so they were pretty strong. Glad to get out of it with the 5 points to be honest - it was very close!

Appreciate it was close but Scottish have only lost by the odd point to Donny and Jersey away and Hartpury home this season. Had a fair sprinkling of Quins but by no means the full contingent. Maybe just hitting their stride at the business end of the season? Scored 5 tries to Pirates 4 so agree was a close well contested game!

'hitting their stride' is not the first phrase that springs to mind when talking about a team that has lost 12 straight, but I see what you're saying MM - LS far more competitive since early Dec, and really gave an admittedly off-colour Reds a real fright in January.

LS have a huge game at Caldy this Sat: a win could really set up a battle with 'the Landlords' during April (the 2 meet on 22/4); lose, & they might have too much to do...

I think that LS will sneak above Richmond, due to all
Their imports and Richmond having the most horrendous injury list, they are on their bare bones but stick to their principles as a proper rugby club and promote from within .
Run with it

I think you may be right mate but they are both great Rugby Clubs who are doing what they feel they must to survive financially and the Championship will be poorer without whichever goes down this season.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.
