And if was a fly half in that league I will be eyeing those fixtures against LW.
I wasn't that good but it was always good going against better players. Less fun when it was the opposition 12 or 7 obviously.

Yes that's quite a signing for a Level 5 club and I'm sure they'll be firmly targeting promotion to Nat 2 East next season.

London Welsh have stalled in the rise through the leagues. Steven Shingler should make a huge contribution at that standard.

Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Also assistant coach Louie Tonkin is going to Ealing. Both of these are top quality people who will be greatly missed.

Interesting to know how long the 'Geech' move had been in the offing. Was it initiated/confirmed at speed in the 10 days since the departure of 'Bodes' was announced? Or had it been coming for longer than that and possibly been a factor in SB's departure?

Castle Park Knight is almost bang on. I say almost because Sir Ian wasn't just instrumental in the Yorkshire Carnegie fiasco (universally disliked, including by the vast majority of us Leeds supporters), it was his idea entirely, he owned and drove it - it was a McGeechan initiative.
This is a very odd move by Donny imho. If Joe needs a mentor he could look to his dad. I dare say he could reach out to likes of Stuart Lancaster or Andy Farrell. The Donny owner speaks about shaping the future of the club. As much as I respect Sir Ian's record as a player and a coach, I wouldn't want him anywhere near that if it were me. |

Whilst I will always respect McGeegan's exploits with the Lions etc, I dont really understand this move from Donny? Mentoring role or not, McGeechan made a complete balls of a similar role with Leeds Tykes. I believe that he was instrumental in changing the Leeds name to Yorkshire, thus alienating them from the rest of the county (including Donny!). Also, if I remember correctly, he does not come cheap. |

Not fit? Doubt he'll do more than a cameo. Could be wrong.
