Not a bad turnout. Happy with progress on that side of things.
I know quite a few Sky Blues fans that went, so that helped slightly, but overall a decent trajectory.

51-7…. Although I called a Coventry win I wasn’t expecting that. That will be a huge shock to the Donny system that’s for sure.

1300 at Cambridge.

Cambridge started well, but could not score.
Hartpury had that first half burst which put the game beyond doubt.
Cambridge had the Hartpury scrum on roller skates, but only won one scrum advantage, we scored off that move, so it was not even a penalty.

Cambridge won the second half, albeit by a point.
We just need to find out how to play for 80 minutes and to get on the right side of the team of three.

Let’s see how they get on with the slope next week.

Cannot believe it’s over 40 years since we played competitively (think might have been a preseason more recently).
The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

Similar to Hellfire Corner at Redruth?

Not knowing Redriuth, but if you don’t know Goldington Road. A corner drops North to South, West to East creating a pitch with a tricky slope.
Many visiting teams struggle to read the pitch.

I think Blues will rotate a few players to give them more game time but Blues at home and the way we are playing should be eyeing up 50+.

Thinking of 1979?
73-0?

No, Tom Ball was injured. He came off complaining that he could see out of his right eye.
Poole YC'd... was not impressed.

In other news, Ma'm had a great game. đź‘Ť

Cambridge v Bedford, I think we have had two preseason games in the last 15 years.
One here, when we were riding high in Nat 1, the first time, when we beat you.
And one there, which we lost.

I watched the live stream and it was great to see two decent sides - both playing to win. Pirates took their chances well and deserved the win but Ravers forwards in particular always kept them in the hunt for a bonus point. The field looked in great condition given the weather and even the commentary was more balanced than usual. The naughty boys step looked more sphazelnutly populated than I remember it but I still wish I could have been there to enjoy the banter. Have a great season lads.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.
