9 games in 27 days. Think it was 10/11.

[QUOTE=Big Eddie]In my view the unexpected cloud cover was the culprit.

To paraphrase Joni Mitchell eh BE?
That makes two destinations I have visited in as many weeks where I would have expected to see some Rugby.
Had the inspection been 3 hours earlier we could have turned around south of Birmingham.  Instead we had to endure another 6 hours of beer, sausage rolls, cakes and hilarious banter.  That is going to rack up some cost.

I am pretty sure there would have been an inspection around 3 hrs before scheduled kick off….. it is likely at that time it would have been expected to be playable given the experience of the previous two days

A very strong performance by the Knights today - I am sure the lads will have a big smile on their faces on the way back. Special shout out to the hardy few Donny Knights supporters who made themselves heard 👏

Don’t think there’s been a midweek game in Champ for a long time. Last occasion may have been April 2013 when Donny went to Bedford in final week of regular season. Recall it because the result that night meant Knights went down while Jersey survived.

Not the Championship, but I remember Moseley playing Away to Ulster in the B&I Cup on a Wednesday in 2011!

why not? wouldn't that count as the next available weekend?
Perhaps they could play on a neutral ground on a later date. The pitch at St Peter is probably free on the date when Caldy were due to visit.Wink

Dear me. As much as he does for our club, I do worry sometimes about some of the stuff that Alistair Bow comes out with.

Tongue-in-cheek CC, I realise... but actually the pitch isn't free, as Caldy 2s are set to come over to play JRFC (the Island's amateur side) that w/e. The two sides played in April of this year - a good contest which ended in the Island side's only defeat of 22/23

Worth a try mate. A double header with Ravers v Blues playing on pitch 2 is probably also out of the question then. I remember Jersey beat Mighty Roth on a quagmire pitch 2 a few years back.
