It doesn't say he agrees with the current min criteria just some form of.

I think most would agree there needs to be min standards for each level above probably L4 just the current ones for the prem are stupidly OTT to deliberately create a barrier and are also not even applied to those already in.

"There will be no relegation this season but Diamond believes that kind of jeopardy is vital for the future of the Premiership – if the top Championship club satisfies the criteria put in place.

He added: “My experience as an advisor is that one of the biggest hurdles is the criteria but you have to have a minimum criteria and I do welcome promotion and relegation. Not many people in my shoes would say that because it gives you another bit of motivation with the jeopardy of it. I am on a honeymoon at the moment because I can’t go down.”

“If the clubs, and there are probably half a dozen clubs who would want to come up, if they fit the criteria of the minimum standards by all means invest in the team like the Premiership have and give it a crack."

He still favours two of the major obstacles to a free gangway between the leagues - minimum standards and a play-off. Both are in place to tilt the playing field in favour of underperforming Premiership clubs rather than successful Championship clubs.

Pay the rugby creditors, stick two fingers up to everyone else they owe and welcome them back into the Championship. No thanks. Why pollute the Championship with clubs with no morals or integrity?

I believe next season the league will not start until September 22 and run until end of May 25, not sure when the Prem/ Championship Cup is scheduled presumably during International breaks either in November or February / March.

Oh the logic of the RFU. I prefer Rugby season to start first weekend of September.
As mentioned elsewhere they want a pro league. Yet September 1, 8 and 15 the casual supporter might start watching another rugby club or worse football which might have three more weeks August 10, 17 and 24 to entice the casual supporters.

No doubt someone in the RFU knows what they are doing, sadly that person is a minority figure.

Traditionally Blues have lower attendance figures in September due to people still taking holidays, so the later start may benefit clubs with attendance figures. Although we miss a month of better pitches.

The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

I agree it's a bit weird. They did it in N1/N2 this season too, seemingly in a bid to ensure that any lingering make-up games were scheduled before the final round of games, that way ensuring that all 56 clubs played their last game at the same time. Altho' the same doesn't exactly apply in Champ, with 1 of the round 22 games being on the Friday night and one club (Cov) having a bye week...

Like an earlier poster I am drawn towards Nat 2 where the standard is excellent, the admission reasonable and the clubhouses generally welcoming.

When the League has no relegation there is no consequence.
Promotion and relegation is INTEGRAL to any league in this country.

Is a walk up a wooded path okay?

I would be interested in what provisions are made for the less abled to reach the ground, and whether or not any broadcast crew could attend. For me, the flood lights are most important, as they impact on scheduling.

You could have a sponsored shuttle with off road ability. This reminded me of a charity ( fishing for forces )to get disabled ex military to the river banks for fishing .

I wonder what the minimum criteria for tier ii will be? I would think that it would have to include floodlights, and accessibility.
