Leeds were completely sunk in the set scrums and their tackling wasn't up to par either. Coulkd be a long season for them. |

Bad day travelling or trying to get to Taunton from Exeter, it was fine until the final stretch.
The supporters coach was still heading upwards until 8:40. It took 6 and a half hours (including kick off delay, the whole game and a few hours) to do 16 miles for us to turn around and head home doing those miles in 16 minutes. Passing Exeter Unis ground and Sandy Park where two games going on later in the day, if only we knew.

Felt kinda guilty.
We bailed at about 16.00 when there was a "last chance" to do U-turn at J28. Back to Devon for a couple of pints in a network "blackspot"! Finally got the result at 18.15. 750 miles on the clock - and I ain't seen a minute of Nat 1 rugby yet...
Good effort from the lads, though. Geddon! |

Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!

There is a write-up of Mowden's bonus point win at Hull (22-29) on the DMP website, with the hosts racing off to a 19-0 lead just before half-time before Mowden responded and cut the deficit to 14 just before the whistle, scoring four more tries in the second half.
Just like last week, Mowden had secured the win but conceded a penalty on the stroke of full-time, enabling their opponents to kick the necessary three points for a losing bonus point. Edited by Fake_Shemp - 11 Sep 2022 at 11:39 |
