I think if you are good enough to be selected to play International rugby you should be allowed to do so
But only if your club allows you to be released for all training sessions and camps

I think these rules only handicap the nation, whats the point of it really? It only bars us from being able to pick a wider array of talent

It's a problem in the 6 nations tournament.
Wales, Scotland and Italy are hamstrung because they're picking players in clubs outside their control. World Cup, Autumn international and summer tours it doesn't matter so much.
