Sponges grow in the ocean. That just amazes me. I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn't happen.

Just to summarise todays results then:
Sheffield Tigers 34 Blaydon 22 ( 4 tries to 3) Tynedale 17 Preston Grasshoppers 12. (3 tries to 1) Huddersfield 20 Wharfedale 14 (2 tries to 1) Sheffield 14 Rotherham 39 ( 2 tries to 5) Sedgley Park 30 Fylde 20. (3 tries each) Chester 45 Harrogate 19. (7 tries to 3) Massive congratulations to Sedge for being the first to topple Fylde and personal congratulations to Roth on beating Sheffield In unbelievably our first ever league game between the two clubs. Lovely set up at Sheffield and always be thankful to them for stepping up to host our play off games against Bristol in the Championship promotion play offs all those years ago. |

Thanks for the updates. Every week I get asked what’s the scores around the grounds. RM2 thanks to you and others I am able to oblige. Great day today at Park Lane. Fylde are a very good side their first two tries were worth the admission price just to see them. A classic game of two halves. Sedge forwards just got going second half too strong and that was the difference. Sadly this is third week in a row where we believe we had a perfectly good try wiped off for no obvious reason. That sounds crass after a good victory but I know we have all been there and you have to accept it. Still frustrating though. Have a great weekend all All the best ST

Thanks very much. It was a great game amplified by the fact Fylde are a exceptional side this season. Sedge were well worth the win yesterday although no one would have thought that after the first half. Disappointed with some of the additional nonsense from TRP which clubs cannot control. ‘A famous win’ they said. Well out of 14 games against Fylde we won 8 of them. Winning both home and away last season. Famous !!! It’s still a long season ahead. I have to say had Fylde won yesterday the rest of us would have been on tour in the north until May. Nowt wrong with that either 😂😂😂 Have a great night All the best ST

Well it was a famous win for Fylde when they beat us at the Lane. It was the first time they had beaten us at the Lane & only their second ever against us. They were a very good side but we had a few injuries and can play a lot better.
We ain’t giving up yet. It’s just the fact that we have no margin for error now. Win ‘em all and that includes beating you at the Lane and winning at Fylde, plus hoping for help elsewhere and the rub of the green with injuries, plus hopefully getting big Matt back.
