Obviously has come back from travelling in Australia. He should be a very good player in the making but didn’t show it last season.

Brad Thyer, front row for Ealing, officially retires. He was signed from Cardiff, last year, made one appearance, but was otherwise injured.

And Barney Maddison retires to take up head coach role of the Trailfinders women. Leaves Ealing extremely thin at 2nd row, hence this signing.

What do you call extremely thin? If the squad list is up-to-date I counted 7

Sorry, I should have said that we are thin with injuries. Some of those are also academy.

https://www.ampthillrufc.com/welcome-baz/

"With the 1st XV only pre-season friendly against Nottingham this Friday night, Head Coach Paul Turner has confirmed the clubs first new signing of the summer.

First up is a player who will need little introduction to English rugby fans – Richard “Baz” Barrington. Loosehead prop Richard spent nine seasons with club partners Saracens, making 232 appearances and winning 4 Premiership titles and 3 European Champions Cups!"

Joining as player coach.

A strong start to Ampthill's usual slow pre-season signings and warm up games.

Only 1 warm up seems on the low side, but Paul Turner has proved he knows what he is about over the last decade.

https://www.ampthillrufc.com/new-hookers-for-2024-25/

Hookers now:

"ex-New Zealand U20 hooker Rhys Marshall. Rhys previously spent five years in Europe playing for Munster 81 times, scoring 15 tries. He joins from Highlanders in New Zealand!"

" Jordan Liney.

Jordan came through the Ospreys Academy and has played for Bristol Bears and RGC in the Welsh Premiership. He has been capped by Wales at U16, U18 and U20s."

Another couple of exciting recruits for Ampthill
