So far I’ve seen 6 former Doncaster Knights players in European Cup squads this weekend. 4 with Saints and Ben White and Harry Thacker both benched for us whilst with Leicester. What players can other Championship clubs name to show the RFU and the media how much all our clubs do to help develop Premiership standard players please?

We were not in the Championship at the time, but:

Goode, Dingwall and Furlong came through Cambridge mini and youth.
Spencer and Ford-Robinson spent time rebuilding at Cambridge after being dropped by their academies.
Ton Whiteley played on loan from Saracens.
Moon and Painter played at Cambridge on loan from Northampton.

Jamal went from Cambridge to Pirates, so they have a claim on him.

Not the Cup John, but Bomber Hislop started for Edinburgh this weekend.
So 7.

Dan Frost, Russ Tuima and Tommy Wyatt, ex Pirates, part of Chiefs’ win in Toulon.

Do Champ clubs that ceased to exist this season count? Unhappy

I make it 10 former Jersey Reds players in Champ Cup this weekend (can't be 100% certain as there are 24 squads to check). Half of them with Bristol (Woolmore, Grahamslaw, Lane + loanees Sheedy/Dun), and one apiece for Saracens (Clarey), Tigers (Hatherell), Munster (Clarke), Quins (Kerrod) & Cardiff (Lawrence). Probably as many again who are injured, rotated, not selected etc

Again outside Championship, but four of the Sale Sharks squad against Stade Francais - Opoku-Fordjour, Bamber, Curtis and Doherty - have played National One this season.

Dugdale did last year and Carpenter in the 2021/22 campaign.

To be be honest I don't think it matters who outside of the prem the players have played for, I for one find it interesting the journey some players take.  If we were to believe the RFU rhetoric all players in the prem come through their elite academies or are expensive imports.

So keep posting guys, waiting for the blues fans and the pirates, they have helped develop  loads.

Senior academy players all get loaned out to get adult rugby experience, very few step straight into Premiership sides directly, so depending on their age and ability they are spread all over the National leagues close to a Premiership side.
In recent times Jack van Poortvleit, James Whitcombe and George Martin went from academy to Nat 2 for a season, then back to the Tigers Senior side, it is happening this season too and also with Nat 1 sides, some are at Nottingham as well  in the Championship.

This would happen whatever the teams were called and whichever league structure we had.

It's the same in any pro sport.

But unlike other professional sports, the ruling body of ours openly derides the value of player development outside the prem.

Theo Dan is another example. He was playing for Ampthill last season.
