One wonders, when and where from will the recruiting for Worcester will begin, they are going to need around 40 players I would have thought, could get messy.

Costly - especially as Wasps could well be looking for a similar number

The same owner for both Wuss and Wasps, so as he is making noises for Wuss, I am guessing Wasps are not going to be happening, he will of course have to sell one of them too.

Tomiwa Agbongbon, 22 year old Backrow, goes on loan from Ealing to Pirates. Thought he looked good in limited pre-season action. I'm sure he'll be thrilled to sign for a London club then get loaned down to Cornwall.

I think he might relish the opportunity of actually playing rather than holding tackle bags and pumping iron.

I think it is great that he will get game time, but he is an Essex lad, so quite a relocation.

But only for the better😅 Didn’t do Lefty any harm last season.

Lefty back holding tackle bags this year after getting in the dream team last year..

He came on for a solid shift vs. Pirates

More new signings at Ampthill:

Ahead of the fixture at The Lady Bay, The Mob announced the double signing of Tongan back-rower Valentino Mapapalangi and Scottish scrum half Roan Frostwick, who is embarking on his second spell at Ampthill.

Mapapalangi joins The Mob after a five year stay at French side Rouen, who were recently relegated from the Pro D2 in the 2023/24 season. The Tongan had previously spent two seasons at Gallagher Premiership side Leicester Tigers, and made 6 appearances in the European Champions Cup before his exit at the end of the 2018/19 season.

This seems to be the pattern, no pre-season, continue bringing new players and integrating them during the first part of the season.

Have the inevitable slow start

And come good in the new year. Finish comfortably mid table

I wonder if there is method to this madness, picking up players out of contact relatively cheaply once the season has started or something.

there must be some rationale as they have done it for years now.

Propping up the board

Cambridge Contact Coach has gone... citing on his own platform - financial issues.

Can any further light be shed on this?

Will be great, as it will cause all over L2, L3 and L4 sides to be on their toes....

Hooker Morgan Nelson signs for Gloucester from Pirates. Great for him, terrible news for us.

Dropout
I did not know we had a contact coach.

But losing three home fixtures, at least one of which should have been against Premiership opposition, does not do the budget any favours.

So I would not be surprised if we had to let someone go.

As for Nelson, while I admit to having had blood and sand glasses on, but I do not recall him standing out.

If I was a player at any L2/3/4 club and any of these showed an interest in wanting to sign for them, I would want my year’s remuneration paid in ADVANCE! They have all shown an ineptness of the highest order in running a proper fiscal budget (even with massive financial handouts from the tax payer !) ….
