That's what was said on the ITV commentary of Briz/Sarries today. Wrongly - as Glaws host Falcons next Sat & then play the Euro Challenge Cup final the following Friday... They wouldn't dare make so many changes for a home game, surely, especially wanting to get some momentum before a cup final (and risk losing to a team without a win)?

All quiet on the western front, Knights went and denied Ealing any points giving Coventry a shout only for Pirates to do a number on them.
Well done Ealing for winning the league - Bedford as your last game so that’s not an easy one. Funny old game isn’t it

I don’t think there has been much between the top 5. With the others on their best day being able to overturn them.
The way Blues are playing they will either go down to Ealing and win with a bonus point or get pumped 50+ points. |

I am content with Blues getting a top four finish.

The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

I was hoping for second, but with unavailabilities in the last two games (although a win over LS was still forthcoming) it looks almost certain that that has been scuppered.
The second half had a sense of inevitability yesterday (although I wasn't there so may be speaking out of turn) with a yellow and, crucially, master technician second rower Tyas going off injured in the final furlongs after the bench had emptied, Pirates were always going to come back hard. Still, third guaranteed again, so not too shabby, and something to build on. It's a great shame that even first place doesn't matter all that much... particulary to the Ah Eff You.

It was a cracking afternoon at The Mennnaye, with a big crowd of over 2,300, a lot of Cov support and some lovely weather. A very close game in which Cov had a lot of territory and possession and scored a good try early on followed by a second mid way through the first half. These were answered by three long range penalties from the boot of Bruce Houston. The second half again saw Cov with the lions share of possession but unable to break down a resolute Pirates defence. In the final quarter the Pirates pack got on top and secured a couple of scrum penalties which allowed them the chance to get the driving maul operating, pushing Cov back on several occasions. We are surprised and delighted about how well this (mostly) young team have gelled together and become a team that are very hard to beat. This was the third game in a row where the opposition have failed to score in the second half. It would be great if we could keep the majority of this squad together, but the finances and the ineptitude of the RFU may make that impossible. |

I think they rested players for their final next week? [/QUOTAlmost the record 106 to 12 held by Bedford against Richmond in the Premiership in 1999.

It was the same situation almost, Blues rested their best team in the final league game ready to take on Titans in the play-offs.
