Yes hope it’s a good game. Didn’t know you have Dual Regs with Tigers and Saints?

That lock you have on DR from Leicester Tigers looks some unit. 6ft 9”

This will be a very tough game.

Young Chessum played for the Lions last season, this is his first game back from injury this season. Lions have had an association with Tigers and Saints going back around 10 years, as have other sides like Loughborough Students and Hinckley in Nat 2 and then there are Premiership academy players in the Championship too, Nottingham have some Tigers including Charlie Myall, who is technically a DR at the Lions still, he played for them last season.

Leicester Lions v Rotherham Titans (youtube.com)

Small margins and a bit of bad luck, the Lions were not overwhelmed, it will come, plenty of time to gel the side together.

Brilliant that TigerBurnie.
Thank you very much for sharing.

Yes you looked very good first half. We have a good comic of experience and young lads, together with a great coach, so am very pleased with our start but there is a long way to go.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

p.s. these match videos are great & I have also seen ones that Sedgley Park & Darlington do too.
Really good.

Richmond 43 Leicester Lions 12
For the third week in a row the Lions faced top 3 opposition and despite a spirited performance succumbed to a third straight defeat to a strong Richmond side.
The hosts earned the first opportunity and took full advantage when hooker Callum Torpey cut a nice line to make a break before finding second row Jake Monson in support to score under the posts after just 3 minutes. Callum Grieve converted (7-0).
The Lions responded well though and in typical fashion launched a clever play that led to a Joe Brock break. With a try looking like a certainty, Richmond full-back Alex O'Meara knocked down the last pass deliberately and was yellow carded. The Lions were unable to capitalise on the extra man though and the home side eventually cleared their lines.
The Lions' inability to capitalise on their opportunity was punished further when the home side demonstrated their efficiency once again on their next visit to the Lions' 22. When the ball was turned over at the base of the scrum the Richmond backs moved the ball wide for winger Frank McMillan to score in the corner (12-0).
The game continued to be evenly balanced but once again a Lions error was severely punished when a Theo Mannion grubber was blocked and then kicked through by a Richmond player. Second row Mattias Woolard showed incredible pace to win the race to the ball that had settled in the in-goal area. Grieve converted for a commanding lead (17-0).
Gareth Collins turned early to the bench and the introduction of Reuben Logan and Aaron Dawson had an immediate effect as both showed some powerful carries. The Lions finally got on the scoreboard after 33 minutes when a clever lineout play led to a Joe Brock break and winger Jack Edwards eventually crossed from close range. Mannion converted from out wide to reduce the deficit (17-7).
The second half started as a cagey affair, with both sides knowing the importance of the next score. It was Richmond who broke the deadlock on 50 minutes when the pack drove 20 metres for Jimmy Litchfield to score the bonus point try. Grieve converted (24-7).
The hosts added a fifth try after 63 minutes when the impressive winger Chidera Obonna got the ball in midfield and beat a number of would-be tacklers to score under the posts before the pack added another driving lineout score on 68 minutes, finished by replacement Alex Schwarz. Grieve adding the extras for both scores (38-7).
The Lions continued to put together some good attacking play and scored a deserved second try when a lineout drive was held up short and the ball was worked out wide for Edwards to cross for his second (38-12).
The London side were not done yet though and they scored a late try when the impressive full-back O'Meara finished neatly by chipping ahead and re-gathering to score out wide. (43-12).
Head Coach Gareth Collins commented: ''It was another frustrating afternoon for us, but again one that we can learn from. Richmond are a top side, in good form, but we cannot afford to make the amount of errors that we did today. We worked plenty of good opportunities, through some excellent attack, but our failure to convert those opportunities really hurt us. We've had a tough run of fixtures and that will continue next week, but we'll keep working and trust that results will come if we do. ''

The Lions lost the battle of the bottom two sides in National 1 despite a second half comeback that saw them earn two bonus points. The Lions started brightly and Luke Bouchier converted a long range penalty for an early lead. Mowden responded immediately though, with the impressive backrow Joe Craggs re-gathering the restart before fly-half Junior Newton cleverly grubbered through for back row Marcus Tiffen to dot down. Josh Ree added the extras (7-3).The Lions' ill-discipline was costing them and Ben Almond saw yellow for a tip tackle. When a series of penalties then put them in to their own 22 they were made to pay on 20 minutes when DMP's hooker Max Fraine crossed at the back of a powerful driving maul (12-3).DMP's third came in similar fashion just 5 minutes later when prop Alfie Barron crashed over after another strong maul had been held up just short. Ree added the extras (19-3).With the Lions now chasing the game they launched a counter attack from their own line but when a Jack Edwards pass went to deck DMP moved it wide and winger Henry Hadfield finished impressively beating a number of would-be tacklers to conclude an expensive 10 minutes for the Lions. Ree added the extras again for a commanding half time lead. (26-3).The Lions started the second half on the front foot and a superb pass from Luke Bouchier sent Jake Sterland over in the corner on their first attack. This was quickly followed by a Theo Mannion score as he gathered a pinpoint Bouchier crossfield kick and rounded the last defender neatly. Bouchier converted both from the touchline to narrow the gap and bring the Lions right back in to the contest (26-17).The hosts extended their lead with a converted score on 55 minutes when number 8 Yaree Fantini was the latest beneficiary of another strong DMP maul but the Lions hit back again when debutant Ahren Crowley crossed out wide after another Bouchier long pass. (33-22).With just over 10 minutes to go Ree added an important penalty, following a breakdown infringement that saw Simon Johnson yellow carded, to push the hosts out to a 14 point lead. (36-22).The Lions continued to push though and were rewarded with 5 minutes to go when Johnny Murdoch crossed from close range after a period of pressure on the DMP line. Bouchier converted to bring the Lions within 7 points. The Lions then pressed for a score to tie the game but, with the clock in the red, a holding on penalty was jubilantly celebrated by the home side.

Final score DMP 36 Lions 29

Head coach Gareth Collins commented: ''Obviously it's a disappointing result but from the position we were in at half time it definitely feels like 2 points gained rather than 4 or 5 lost. It's frustrating as our attack caused them a lot more issues than theirs did to us, but our errors and ill-discipline really cost us. The character we showed second half was really pleasing though and we have to take that fight in to another massive game next week.''

This makes for interesting listening in the interview with Lions head coach Collins, gives an insight into the pro's and con's of having dual registered players.
