A statement from the club has said that Truro City Football Club, previously owned by an umbrella company including The Cornish Pirates, has been sold. The plan for the stadium was to include facilities for both clubs. Having been let down completely by Cornwall Council The Pirates have now decided to stay at The Mennaye Field, Penzance for the foreseeable future. There is a new ground being built on the site, on a much smaller scale, and that will now be used by Truro City FC, who currently have no ground and are playing "home" games in Plymouth.
It's a sad day in many ways after so many people striving so hard for 20+ years to get the new stadium project off the ground.
But at least now there is clarity and hopefully we can move forward as a sustainable club.
